It is a shame that my single best plant is, indeed, sea weed.  :(

The Hills:
A plant with a large juicy edible stem (+1 food).
A fibrous (Thread source) plant with an edible stem.  It's root is can be ground into a spice.

here is a question.  When I harvest my shrubs, do I get two food, one from the shrub and one from the syrup?

I would assume so yes.

Precisely, that plant has but one edible part (+1) as compared to the sea weed's three. Of course, that is not how one rates a crop's productivity IRL, but that will probably affect the ingame production, or do all farmed plants initially give the same fixed ratio, in spite of their wild values?

Have you thought of exploring for other things?

That'd require me to open hand of a population unit or hero for 2 days, no? Also, as of now, will such a monstrosity as a plant with 4 edible parts worth 4 food each be theorically possible?

Uh yes, it would have edible leaves, seeds, fruit, roots, and stems. As well as being millable, so while it can only have 4 traits, it could have a max of 4 edible parts (or parts that are just really plentiful) or be 4 times millable which if you have a mill, would be 8 foodstuffs.

In the next version, I don't know, I'm still on the rope about whether or not plants should have multiple traits or just one, but 4 foodstuff could easily be possible.

Will you roll a 1d4 for each edible part of the plant? That is what I actually meant, a plant with four or five parts worth 4 food each (Total Overkill). Also, one of us does have a plant worth 4 foodstuff, in fact, that is green's starting spot's sole advantage.

Edible parts in the current version only provide one foodstuff, unless you rolled the same part twice.

Roger that. What are the odds of rolling a same part twice?  Also, this game will unavoidably incorporate a fairly modern concept: environmental thievery.

9/20 for edible part then 1/5 for the same edible part.  Charts can be found linked on the OP.

What is environment thievery?

Weasel, if I build a pasture and choose to butcher the armadillo things, will I get eggs that turn?

You get eggs every week, butchering them after you collect the eggs is the same as gathering the fruit before you cut the tree down.

Environmental Thievery is the theft of an exemplar from  a sovereign nation's native flora or fauna. For instance, the British Empire took away a sample of Hevea brasiliensis (rubber) and introduced it in its colonies, a heavy blow to Brazil''s rubber industry.

How strong are my bipedal spiders when compared to other nations' animals?

It's good at ambushing, and it can be rode, but it's not any stronger then anything really.

I have no complaints over that, but I wonder why you replied to me saying "Poor Green" by mentioning them back at the start of the thread.

They're carnivores.
