Hrm, changing my action to something a bit more serious/useful, saving the previous one for next turn. :P

>Koban will listen to the boss, leading the wood-cutting peasants off to, well, cut some wood.
He'll use an influence point to get 'em working, and join in himself.

Will possibly write up some RP to go with this later on, if I have time.
Fakeedit: Wait, what? KoTW said we were s'posed to post actions here...

Alright I'm now actually up without a migraine so  let's see.

So are you spending an influence point so that your leader doesn't have to?  and your joining in yourself so your sending 2 population to cut down the same type of tree or are you yourself gathering one and the population the other?  If your gathering the same then it'd be the same as using an influence point to make them gather more.

I need to know what tree both of you are going to be cutting, then just post it in the IC board.

There is a minor problem with your logic: have you seem saltpetre anywhere? Good luck getting these rifles to fire. We are not technologically restricted, but we sure are limited to what materials we have access to... And chances are we won't be able to prospect for potassium nitrate.

Muskets were no better than a composite bow, their sole advantage was the greatly reduced training time necessary to field a competent soldier: one'd take years learning the hangs of shooting an arrow, whereas crossbows and firearms took but weeks. Gunpowder's early impact derived from the widespread use of artillery, rather than infantry weapons.

You can get saltpeter by mixing crap and urine, but your still missing sulfur.  But yeah the current system leaves a lot to be desired, this is a beta test if anything.

The tree I asked him to cut down was the Aethorn Sha'shae(+3 wood, +1 food).  Also, it seems I still don't understand the influence system, and that really is my bad.  So, if I use my influence to have both of my pop do something, can Yoink use his influence to get them to do other stuff at the same time?

No.  Let me go through this again.

Your ability to use the population is limited to your influence.  If you have 2 influence and 3 pop, you can only tell 2 of the population what to do, the third will do whatever I tell them to, or if there already part of something they'll continue to do that (such as working in an industry or building a structure.)  If you have 3 influence and 2 pop, you can tell both what to do and you'd have a spare influence remaining which you can use for other things.  Yoink can't control pop that you have already ordered but he can influence them by using points to make them gather more. If you have 2 influence and he has 1, and you have 3 pop you can order two of the pop and he can order the last pop for you, but he can't order population if you've already given them orders.

In that case, he is making them get MORE wood from the strong trees.

Is he using his influence to do that or is he simply doing it by being another population doing it or both?

Can a ruler die before the nation is taken over and, if so, is it possible to assign a new one?

-Build a camp near the cliffs and start cutting down the trees.

Is that a good action?

You start with 1 influence, so you can also bring 1 pop unit with you.

The camp counts as the pop unit, and I think it also uses influence (if I understood the system well).

Random question: If you have 1 pop unit cut down a tree worth +3 lumber, do you get +3 lumber or just +1?
