The voice actor's thread
« on: February 22, 2012, 10:59:42 am »

So, I was thinking, since the other voice talent thread is now closed, and there was a lot of interest in it, I figured I might kick off a new one. You could post anything you have done here, and every Thursday, I'll get together the submissions for the week, and we can figure out the best submission for that week through popular vote. Get creative, and I'll probably post something of my own sometime later when I feel better.

I'm going to be doing a dramatic reading of "Any way she wants it" tomorrow. It's a fanfic.

The bad kind.

BAD.

Wish me luck.

To quote myself:
Oh, on the subject of voice actors, Natasha Allegri of Adventure Time fame is looking for a female voice actor (or at least, someone who can voice a female):

Apparently it pays.
This is still going for people who are interested.

Nevermind, I'm terrible at talking. I've got to improve if I'm going to read something worth listening to.

I'm very interested in doing this as well. I'm thinking that I should atleast get a quality microphone that I don't sound like a muffled fish man with a smoking habit.

This is interesting. I'm in the same boat as JoshuaFH, but as i've got textbooks to buy i won't be getting a microphone any time soon.

You can do a lot of correction with sound editors, even free ones like Audacity.

For everyone who's worried about microphone quality, don't worry about it. When I get better I'm pretty much going to record stuff with my built in microphone on my laptop, and you might even hear the sound of a duck being run over in the background. I'm just not willing to edit my clips with a sound program just yet either. (But do plan on having multiple takes. Practice makes perfect)

We should have a LaFontaine-off. Prizes for the best "In a world..." delivery.

Would anyone be interested in doing an SCP themed audio project for Task Force Alpha-440 (aka "What the hell was that sound?"). Specifically, recordings based on Document-096-1, Incident-096-1-a and Interview 096-1.
Just an interest check for now because I'll need to write up scripts, locate sound effects and get permission from Dr. Dan.
