DECEASEDBackground: Jake was born in Colorado, in a sub-urban town, where his mother died in birth. He was brought up by his father, who loved him dearly and managed to get him into a university for a medical degree. Jake is currently a nurse at a hospital in a major city, so he is used to large amounts of stress and activity, but he felt that he needed a break so he decided to come on this trip.
In his spare time, he is somewhat of a handy-man at home, and he likes driving and maintaining cars and is also somewhat of a boating fan, but he doesn't like having to hunt for wild animals all that much unless required, since he dislikes inflicting harm on people or animals. Since he hasn't really gone out into the wilderness all that much beforehand, he decided to come prepared for most eventualities, including getting lost or attacked.

He grew up in a hotel in Manehattan after his birthparents left him and foster parents raised him. His mother was a DJ and he has talent in DJing. No name or birth certificate so people just call him Vinyl. With his alone time and constant exposure to technology, he is very inventive and has skills with building or fixing technology. In his child years his father was attacked and killed (D:) in a gang attack when they were going on a trip to a consert and now he has a fear of spiders (they had spider masks).

Background:
Born and raised in Bergen, Norway, Yngvar's parents worked for Norwegian oil companies as engineers and brought him to Seattle when he was 13. Before he moved, his grandfather would frequently take him hunting and skiing in the mountains, his grandfather was in fact the biggest influence in his life. He usually goes by his middle name Felix except with his relatives, whom he still speaks to in Norwegian. After a rough school life, Felix decided it wasn't for him and went off to join the military after high school. He fought in Desert Storm and in Bosnia where he gained much combat experience. After his service he moved back to Seattle and became a police officer. To avoid his depression and remind him of Norway, he takes long hikes in the woods and camps out frequently.

Background: Born in Canada, Andy moved to New York to find work in art after graduating from a university in Montreal and being turned down by the local companies. He is now one of many concept artists within a major video game company in New York City. The job is stressful, and he lives alone, but the job still eats up time like nothing else. When a job is finally finished he celebrates by going camping, which he has turned into a horrifyingly elaborate hobby. He doesn't exactly like campsites, so he often picks an empty patch of land in the middle of nowhere and sets up camp. He decided that maybe he would try and involve the online community in his next trip, so he set up a thread. Sure enough people were interested. Hell, there were enough people to start a waitlist. For some reason people were just interested in trying survivalist camping. He had a feeling that some of them didn't know what to expect, so he decided not to pick anywhere too dangerous.
Andy considers himself a survivalist, but sometimes he goes too far and bites off more than he can chew. If he's trapped somewhere he won't give up. He'll go further into a cave if he has to, up a mountain if it's in the way, or even though the waters of a marsh in the fog. He's determined, and if he sets his mind to a goal nothing will stop him, even if it is a bad idea. He's lost his right pinky finger to an infection from the marsh waters he crossed, and his doctor was quite surprised that he didn't lose his hand. He continues to be reckless, even if the next accident may cost him the ability to do his job.
