I made an elven adventurer (Yes, I did it. I named him Cacame so it is ok). I managed to steal some "actual" equipment (when I went to kill my first "bandit quest", he was already dead. I think his Dwarven friends made a mutiny or something). I sneaked around and stole everything.

Then I finally get hungry. But i find out that elves aren't supposed to attack wild life (that explains why they weren't running away from me). I'm about to just say "F*ck it" and kill something, but I wanted to know, are elves supposed to eat something else? I see wild strawberries everywhere but I can't pick them up. How do I eat them (if I can)? And if I can't, what am I supposed to eat?

Find town with marketplace. Buy food there.
Also you can find some food from night creature lairs and sometimes normal houses.

hrm, never tested with my goblins, as in that version, eating was not required.

i am disappoint.  civ ethics should handle it, not hardcoding.

If you find an abandoned house in a human town, you can usually get bags full of crops worth 500ish food. Just grab one and you're good to go.

in the human capital of the region which my current adventurer sees as home region
most of the inhabitants seem to be elves.

And these elves seem to specialize in leather and bone carving
The huge mnarket in the middle of the town has one elf next to the other,
wanting me to buy their pig bone scepters, leather items and whatever you can create with leather/bones

A strange behavior that lets me suspect that all of them were corrupted by night creatures

Or they just have lived in human society too much. Like a hardcore Hindu coming to America and his children eating nothing but McDonalds.

That's because ethics are entity(society)-based, not creature-based.  Humans in elven entities will obey all elven rules about being nice to animals (even though animals will attack them, since AT_PEACE_WITH_NATURE is a caste-level token), and elves in human towns will basically act like humans.

Correction: elven society is lame and needs to be destroyed.  Dwarves that have been elfified are just as bad.  Elves that have been dwarfified are kickass - see Cacame.

If you look around enough random buildings in hamlets you might eventually find a pile of bags containing fruit.  I've no idea why it happens but I find them quite consistently in my games.  People don't seem to mind you taking them.
