any updates to the fort splint? Any "misfortunes"?
@ xaldin: I consider my fort failed when those 2 lines of defense you mentioned breach.
If you want your fort not to be able to fail, fill a giant reservoir with water underground and wall yourself completely in.
of course you could make a hell lot of weapon traps that will just rip everything to shreds easily as well ( lets face it , 100 weapon traps filled with 10 weapons each isnt that hard to make )
I was going to make that huge pump stack eventually, for exactly the reasons you describe. I was going to do exactly what youre saying.
I consider leaving the possibility of failure in the equation part of the fun, and i really liked that battle, though i learnt some lessons from it.

Splints reaction to my layout gave me a couple of good laughs last night so that was really worth it.
I'm going to make a new fort and actually call it "The Hive"

This thread is incredibly amusing... arphen, you've made a fort that would be considered solid gold in succession games - my hat is off to you. lol   All my forts tend to be obvious, or so I've been told. :\

I would be glad if this fort could go on for a while! If you want and Splint agrees you can take over the fort when he's done?

Swaped over to testing something at the moment. Dunno what that lever did still and I have yet to lay the dead axelords to rest.

My task is tioll going to be battle clean up as it stands. (Definatly more than enough gear for everyone to have a weapon now...)

Sure, if Splint's fine with it - and I don't mind waiting til he's done.   Sounds like it would be Fun... >.>

I'm cool with it. Testing needs to be done for my own plans, but I'll hapily pass it along when I play. Year standard I trust? xD

And thus an accidental succession is born from a clusterfuck built by one person.

I'm still unsure if a "clusterfuck" is a good thing ?

For DF, every fort becomes one eventually due to haphazard expansion.

Yours just happened to be designed as one.

Decided to set up a huge tomb in an exgavated room. And a butcher appearently went and got himself killed. Followed by a cat.

We're gonna have to do this one winter to winter instead of spring to spring.

This should be an interesting experience... lol   And possibly the start of a new type of succession game... Player 1 tries to make the fort as ridiculous and insane as possible for a few years, and then everyone else tries to salvage it... and they end up screwing each other over in the process. lol - sounds like Fun.

Oh man, Notes on levers have saved me so many times, Now which of these levers controlls which bridge in my courtyard now?  I think I have 5 different bridges coming off my courtyard alone...
