I believe he's out frolicking with the pixies or something for the weekend. I didn't ask for particulars. I worry you might end up waiting until sunday-mondayabouts to hear from him.
I participated in a dueling tournament, fought and won against my doppelganger, debated the merits of socialism, communism, feminism, tried to avoid confronting the mentally unstable and read a book I could not understand. But now I am here again. Sorry for the intermezzo.

...so D&D, then?

The Slippery Slammers 1 - 0 Red Thought

The Daemons had some pretty good rolls, rolling defender stumbles all over the place... which would have been great had they been facing any other team. As it was my Amazons only got knocked over a handful of times in the entire match, pulling off hilarious stunts like getting blocked by 5 daemons in a row (that's 10 blocks!) and still not going down. On the other hand the Daemons did go down, and had some unlucky injury rolls on top of that, netting themselves a BH and a dead (who was -AV anyways, so he was just allowed to die). Game probably could have ended up being something more like 2-0 or 3-0, but the injury of one of my throwers and the early perma-KO of the other must have cursed my team, as every time I tried to throw the ball I ended up with a critical failure fumble. :P As such the only score happened very early in the game, around turn 3, when the very first kickoff rolled a blitz that allowed my amazons to pretty easily secure the ball at the beginning.

Monk's Morons 2 - 1 Vidyagamsk

A surprising victory for the Morons, as the HMC stole a fair number of rerolls for the Necromantic team. The Ogres managed to bull through the Vidyagamsk defenses in the first half, a pair of persistent werewolves unable to contain the AG3 Break Tackling Ogre Niels Bohr. However, while the Ogres were able to stop the Necromantic squad from scoring in the last two turn of the first half, they were not able to prevent them from knocking several Snots out.

In the second half the Morons spread wide, trying to find a way to contain the speedy werewolves with a man disadvantage. That disadvantage became severe a turn later when the last snotling went to the KO box on a failed TTM. Vidyagamsk scored quickly, hoping to take advantage of the underpopulated Ogres and turn a draw and a win, but fortunately for the Morons a handful of snots came back on the pitch, including Block Snot Charles Gobat. What followed was 4 turns of exceptionally good luck for the Morons, as they suffered only three boneheads on the final drive, all in non-critical situations, and were able to punch through the Necromantic line and somehow scramble into the endzone as time expired.

Niels Bohr leveled up from the action, which is a nice bonus. Somehow, the Morons are hovering around .500 just past the midpoint with their eyes set on a playoff berth. Next week, the rematch with Knives in the Darkness, another team in playoff contention and fighting with the Morons for that last ticket.

Me and THE_SLAYA played our game a day or two ago. It ended in a 2-0 victory for Scaly and Lazy. Mostly the game could be characterized by me running away from the treemen until they rooted and then bashing the halflings until the timer ran out. The winds of fate were certainly on my side, as the halflings drained all their rerolls quite rapidly, and I barely had to use mine (especially in the second half, where I only used the one that a kick off event gave me.) Funny (for me) moment there where it took about seven halflings and a treeman 3-4 turns to push my really poorly positioned big guy out of the ring only for him to not even get knocked out by it. There was a very tense moment where a treeman threw a ball carrying halfling quite far a bit further then I thought possible, and I had not realized until that moment that halflings were able to not be knocked out after being thrown and run into the end zone, but lucky The Slayer failed both his landing roll and his reroll, and the halfing landed on his head right next to the endzone and a skink picked up the ball and ran away. In the end four or five halflings went out with red crosses, but I think only one caught a permanent injury. I got two red crosses but nether are bad enough to even miss a game.

A skink and a saurus caught a level up, I think the skink got normal rolls and the saurus caught doubles, so I'll have to see what I want to turn him into. With no missed games from injuries this time, I think for the first time in a while I am going to be fielding all of my saurus in next weeks rematch, so here is hoping that goes well.

Also, this time I didn't get shafted on the money roll, and won 80k! So much! I'm not sure what to spend it on though. Maybe a healer.

An apothecary would go a long way towards keeping your slow to skill Saurii alive.

Also, I hadn't realized the week advanced, so I haven't done any scheduling for my game. My apologies, I'll get on that now.

Yah, it sounds like minecraft with content, you have obviously missed the point, people dont like content, they like different coloured blocks.
Seems to work fine with my copy. As soon as I loaded the human caravan came by and the world burst into fire.

By until they took root, he means turn 1 and 9, xD. The main positive I got from this game was one of my trees leveled up to level 3!

1 and 9

Yeah, I think his level two tree rooted on the first turn every time on every real drive. (Although on the half turn drive at the end of the first half I think your other tree rooted turn one instead...) The longest the other tree lasted was... Turn 3 or 4 I think. Clearly someone above wanted me to win/slayer to lose :D

Monk's Morons defeat Knives in the Darkness 1-0

And now, a moment of silence for Charles Albert Gobat, the most experienced snot in franchise history. After a team-record 19 matches, the Block/DT snot finally met his end on the pitch despite the "help" of the apothecary. His skills won games for me, and he was instrumental in this victory as well, not only forcing difficult pickups and extra dodges, but also scoring himself an interception which greatly stalled the Dark Elf opening drive. Not only that, he fetched the ball from the goalline just before the Dark Elves could score, and was flung away from the action by an Ogre where he was able to sprint within striking distance of the endzone, forcing an early use of the Wizard by the KitD coach. This meant that the lightning was not available to stop the Ogres own advance, so not only did he stop the opposing TD, he pretty well secured the Ogre's second half TD.

All of this, and he didn't even take the MVP with him to his grave. Rest in Peace, Charlie Gobat.

Vidyagamsk and Struggling People fought to a tie at 0-0, with the snow hopefully cooling the heads of the chaos warriors, their frustration at their ignominous failure at the very last moment. Carrying the ball, Jacobin, a Chaos Warrior player, managed to slip and fall even after a reroll at the scoring line, ensuring that the rather bashy game ended in no climax, no satisfaction. Throughout much of the half, the Chaos side kept beating on a werewolf that had strayed one square into the Chaos half (a bridge definitely too far!) but to no avail. Earlier, a werewolf was nearly decapitated, but its head simply reknit itself to that damned and thrice-cursed torso. Elsewhere, a wight fractured its arm and some zombies took brief pauses from the beating. Outside of a few skirmishing players, the center held lines of both players at varying constellations.

The Slippery Slammers 1 - 2 Monk's Mountebanks

Game was almost a 2-2 tie, but sadly my catcher wasn't able to hold onto the ball at the end of the first half, instead managing to roll 4 critical failures in a row. :P

Of course my biggest problem now is what am I supposed to do with all of this money. My team currently has 180k with absolutely nothing to spend it on. I don't really need more players (though I might pick up just one extra lineman in case), I need more experienced ones. I don't need more rerolls since I have so many player reroll skills I'm already finishing most halves with at least 1 left over. I don't have a big guy to purchase. From the looks of it I'm probably going to end up finishing the training league with something like 300k extra just sitting in the bank and nothing to spend it on. :o

A good problem to have! Particularly with AV7, all it takes is one bad run of dice and suddenly you need to replace half of your positionals. Fortunately we don't have too many deadly killer teams in the league, so that's a plus- the Marauders went to the Champions league with almost a billion in gold.

As i2amroy said, it really should have been a 2-2 tie, since that catcher had 2 opportunities to just pick up the ball and walk into the endzone. Not that I'm going to argue with a critical win over the #2 team in TT. Levelups for a Gutter Runner and a Linerat are a nice bonus too.
