Hey everyone, I guess I forgot to announce that the Main league had advanced so I'll be advancing it again next Friday.

Week Seven match-ups are:
THE_SLAYA - My Mummie's Mummies vs Delta Foxtrot - Vidyagamsk
i2amroy - The Daemoning! vs Kanil -  Shimmering Dragons
Luke_Prowler - Ripsaw's Raiders vs monk12 - Monk's Morons
Raddish - Knives in the Darkness vs lijacote - Struggling People

The Mummies clashed with the undead foxtrot resulting in a 1-0 win for the Mummies. Nothing exciting really happened except that the Khemri did manage to pick the ball up not once, but TWICE in the pouring rain that decided to plague the match all day. The only score of the game happened on turn 8 after the Khemri had managed to lock down the entire undead team. Two werewolf smashed hands were regenerated but at least the wolves weren't on the field to ruin the Khemri's delaying tactics.  The second half saw a few early zombie KO's and the ballcarrier being knocked down all in the first two or three turns. After that the ball basically just sat on the ground with nobody good enough to pick it up through all the tackle zones. Until turn 16 that is when an insane thro-ra decided to run in, pick the ball up out of two tackle zones, dodge away, run over to a skeleton in scoring position, and watch as the skeleton forgot what the ball looked like and dropped it on the ground. Overall a fun and enjoyable match.

i2amroy, when would a game be ok for you?

I sent you a PM but I'm not sure you got it. Basically anytime over the weekend (save from about 2am - 10 am when I'm asleep) or any weekday after about 1:30pm MST is great for me. Just send me a PM of a time you want to play and I'll do my best to be there.

Oh, I should mention that Monk's Morons defeated Ripsaw's Raiders 1-0. As usual, a shortage of Boneheads and a surfeit of armor cracking proved instrumental in the victory.

So I bought Blood Bowl finally. According to first post, all free slots are currently taken. But I still have a question - are you playing using classic rules or blitz?

Or does any of you have any suggestion which rules should I be using as a newcomer in general?

Basically classic (I think we might have 1 or two tiny rules changed, like recharging wizards, but Classic is what you would want to train on, and I'm not sure it will let you change the rules to match ours exactly in single player mode anyways without XML editing; stupid Cyanide ).

And I'd highly suggest checking out bbtactics, they have some great articles about the basics of the game as well as nifty suggested team and player build guides for every single team (except Khorne Daemons, which has a useful guide here).

I too have just procured a copy of this finest form of entertainment. Of course, I've never freakin' played a match before, so I'll need some quality time with the single-player mode for a while. But I'd like to start watching this thread to maybe get involved next season.

We're just waiting on my game with lijacote IIRC. As you can see from my post above, I haven't been able to get in touch with him to play it.

I don't wanna say I called it but... I called it.
The Daemoning! 1 - 3 Shimmering Dragons

Game was going great until a riot + fumbled throw to nobody landed a touchdown right in the Dragon's lap. Then on the second half a riot moved the clock forwards, followed by some incredibly BS luck letting the elves grab another 2 TD. It's like Kanil somehow managed to concentrate all of his luck for the entire game into the last turn of the first half and the last 4 turns of the game.

(And to add insult to injury I didn't even get the 50/50 shot at leveling up my guy on the last turn throw due to a attack down+ both down/double attacker down ).

Yeah, that was a weird game. It started out so poorly, two failed gang fouls on the big guy, lots of defender downs and casualties, then suddenly Nuffle's like "Hey Kanil, guess what? You win."

Riot on T8 lets me score an otherwise impossible touchdown, riot on the next kickoff reduces the amount of time I have to stall, and then a blitz after my second TD not only prevents a tying touchdown, but lets me score one more myself for a little extra SPP. All while the khorne armor starts breaking and they fall off the field.

I participated in a dueling tournament, fought and won against my doppelganger, debated the merits of socialism, communism, feminism, tried to avoid confronting the mentally unstable and read a book I could not understand. But now I am here again. Sorry for the intermezzo.
