The Other Kittens (K) vs. Skitterscamps (S)
Skitterscamps starts the game with a wizard and (IIRC) an extra apothecary.
K Kickoff - K wins the coin flip and elects to kick. The weather shifts to very sunny, which, in combination with foul presence, succeeds in locking down any passes for the rest of the game.
S1: One of the blitzers immediately KO's one of the block-rotters, folled by a few goblins (gob) and the other blitzer KO'ing one of the +STR warriors. The S's lineman attempts to pick-up the ball, but fails both the pickup and the reroll, ending the turn.
K1: K engages and throws some blocks, but fails to knock anyone over.
S2: S knocks over a pestigor (pest) and attempts to knock over the Beast of Nurgle (BoN) but are repulsed by his ugly appearance. The lineman picks up the ball and begins to move down the left side of the field.
K2: The right-field Nurgle Warriors (NW) and Zara attempt to push around some gobs, but only manage to knock one over (despite a 3 die roll on one). The backfield pests move up the left side in a blocking formation in front of the lineman and throw a few ineffective blocks.
S3: A blitzer and the troll team up with some gobs to knock over both Zara and the BoN. The remaining skaven and a gob form a vertical wall down the left side of the field, providing a free corridor for the ball-carrying lineman to run down between them and the edge of the field.
K3: The left-field forces push through the wall, eventually allowing the +AGI pest to dodge away from the middle of the field and blitz the ball carrier. The ball flies off the edge of the field, but is thrown back in to land only two spaces from where it was dropped on the edge, next to the pest.
S4: The two blitzers team up to push the +AGI pest off the edge of the field (where the fans wail on it to no effect). The skaven once again form up a wall between K's forces and the ball.
K4: The BoN attempts to stand but can't remember what he's doing (despite both a teammate and Pro). Some gobs get knocked over and a thrower stunned, while a pest manages to get next to the people who are next to the ball.
S5: The adjacent pest is knocked over, and a remaining 0 SPP rotter near the ball is killed by a
gob. Immediately after this one of the blitzers kills the remaining NW on that side of the field, but he regenerates. The skaven linemen attempts to pick up the ball but rolls two ones, causing it to bounce off the field and be thrown in deep on Kanil's side (near where Zara and the remaining +STR NW are pushing some gobs around).
K5: Zara badly hurts one of the gobs and then runs to one space short of the ball (but only a pickup and a go-for-it from a touchdown). The BoN stands up and helps a NW to stun one of the blitzers. With a pest they form a semi-wall between S's forces and the ball.
S6: The troll attempts to throw one of the gobs but fails, stunning it. A skaven thrower and lineman break free and begin to converge on Zara, while one of the gobs fouls a pest but is caught by the referee. The wizard calls down lightning on Zara, but she manages to shrug it off and remain standing.
K6: One of the NW's badly hurts a two-headed gob while the BoN looks on stupidly. Zara picks up the ball and scores a touchdown.
K Kickoff - Both the KO'd NW and block-rotter stand back up again. Kickoff table comes up high-kick, but there is already a blitzer standing underneath the ball. The ball bounces through the blitzer's fingers and comes to rest in those of a gob.
S7: Both NW's on the left side are knocked down and one is stunned, leading to another push down the left side. A lineman readies to receive a hand-off from the gob, which would allow for a score on turn 8.
K7: Two of the pests team up to knock over the ball carrying gob, and while they fail to pickup the ball, causing a turnover, they make a score by Skitterscamps on turn 8 virtually impossible.
S8: Some ineffective blocks are thrown before the troll attempts to throw a gob, but is once again stopped by disturbing presence (leading to a throw total of -4
). A NW proves how ugly he is by disgusting both blitzers so much they can't bear to hit him. A gob attempts the three dodges needed to give a scoring chance and makes the first two, but fails to pick up the ball before being able to go for the third and the hand-off.
K8: A group of Nurgle join together to foul a blitzer and KO him. A NW attempts a single-die block and rolls a both down, rerolls for something better, and manages to roll an attacker down to end the half.
Halftime:
The Other Kittens 1 - 0 Skitterscamps
The KO'd blitzer stands up. Both teams still have 11 players.
S Kickoff - The Nurgles bring in their +2 AGI rotter to fetch the ball, only for a fan to throw a rock and immediately KO him.
K9: Some blocks are thrown at the line of scrimmage, resulting in the death of a 0 SPP gob. A pest and a +STR NW attempt to knock over the Troll, who proves light enough on his feet to dodge. The +AGI pest attempts to pick up the ball, but fails.
S9: The Troll forgets what he's doing. Both blitzers and a thrower begin to slip around the edges of the Nurgle line.
K10: One of the gobs gets KO'd. The BoN and a pest intercept the escaping skavens. The +AGI pest picks up the ball and heads for the safety of the BoN and two NW's.
S10: A two-headed gob double dodges to stand next to the ball carrier, while a Blitzer stuns one of the pests and joins a thrower in converging on the ball-carrying pest. One of the gobs attempts to dodge away from Zara, but she catches him for the turnover.
K11: The ball pest blitzes a goblin to cause a smashed hand that is apothecaried to badly hurt, then moves into a cage. One of the linemen is pushed off the field but is unhurt by the crowd.
S11: One of the cage pests is knocked over, allowing a thrower to slip next to the ball pest. A goblin is thrown at the cage, but lands in-between the cage members and falls over. The two blitzers team up to stun the BoN.
K12: The cage knocks over a few players and advances slightly while pulling in tight. Zara dodges away from the troll, and the BoN flips over.
S12: The troll attempts to throw a goblin but is too hungry (though the goblin escapes and lands on his feet). A blitzer manages to penetrate the cage and stand next to the ball pest.
K13: The BoN stands up while a cage warrior pushes the blitzer away from the ball pest. Zara KO's the last player behind the cage, a thrower. One of the +STR NW goes hand-to-hand with the troll, but fails to knock anyone over due to block.
S13: The troll forgets what he's doing. One of the non+STR NW Blocks the first block and foul appearances the second, but fails the third and the regen roll, resulting in a gouged eye and a bit easier next game for Monk.
K14: No longer threatened from behind, the cage rotates and begins to push open a passageway for the ball, separating the troll from his companions.
S14: A goblin manages to reach the troll and allow it to push a pest. The two blitzers gang up to KO one of the +STR NW, while the remaining players on S align themselves at the front of the cage to stop it from advancing.
K15: The remaining +STR NW pushes the troll out of the road while the other K members open a hole in S's line. The BoN goes stupid without realizing he is blocking the ball pest, necessitating some frantic scrambling to open a path through K's own line. Eventually a hole opens, and the ball pest breaks for the goal with the other players shielding.
S15: The troll attempts to throw a goblin at the ball pest but fails. A blitzer blitzes, dodges, and does a double go-for-it to reach the ball pest. Another double dodges and does a double-go-for it to also reach the ball pest. A goblin dodges to reach the ball pest.
K16: A pest blitzes one of the blitzers, allowing the +AGI ball pest to make a single dodge and go-for-it to score.
K kickoff - The ball is kicked to the very edge of the field, where a thrower is placed with high-kick and catches it.
S16: The +2 AGI rotter is mistakenly placed on the edge of K's line, where he is knocked over and 5-man fouled, but manages to survive unharmed. The thrower earns some SPP throwing to a goblin, ending the game.
