I think the standings suggest otherwise. It's always a good season for the squishy teams!

Yah, it sounds like minecraft with content, you have obviously missed the point, people dont like content, they like different coloured blocks.
Seems to work fine with my copy. As soon as I loaded the human caravan came by and the world burst into fire.

Well, on one hand, the Skaven suffered three deaths. On the other hand, they won, 3-1. Once squishy teams have the money to replace losses, they become tough to win against unless you get a bunch of them off the field early.

What Krox?

And trust me, I haven't been scoring any friggin' casualties with any saurus either. Not the four or five I regularly give everyone else.

Kobb's Khorne vs. Self Inflicted

No inducements. Self-Inflicted elects to kick.

K1: A touchback puts the ball in the hands of a warrior on the line. He hands it to TAB when he runs up, and a wall forms. A thrall is knocked out.

S1: Vampires blitzing TAB knock him over and move the ball deeper behind the line. A thrall and vampire get beside it.

K2: Lots of blocks manage to stun a vampire.

S2: A vamp tosses the ball downfield to a thrall, who doesn't make the catch.

K3: Beastmen try to catch up.

S3: The thrall picks up the ball and run it in.

K4: A rock from the crowd knocks over the minotaur. TAB picks up the kickoff and tosses it to New Guy behind the line. A thrall gets a broken leg.

S4: Blocks leave the ball in the hands of another beastman.

K5: Random beastman with the ball dodges away from the enemies and tries to get the ball to New Guy, but it falls short.

S5: A vampire passes the ball to the strong thrall, who can't catch it.

K6: Three beastmen get down toward the thrall-vampire combo beside the ball.

S6: The thrall picks up the ball and runs it in.

K7: A rock knocks out New Guy. TAB tosses the kickoff to a Warrior, instead.

S7: The strong thrall knocks over the ball carrier. The ball bounces to the Self Inflicted side of the line. A vampire picks it up and tosses it to a vampire.

K8: Attempt to block the ball carrier results in a side-stepped push.

S8: The vampire fails to dodge away.

Halftime Score: Self Inflicted 2 - 0 Kobb's Khorne

S9: The ball lands in the corner. A vampire picks it up. Several others run onto the Khorne side of the pitch.

K9: A thrall is stunned.

S10: The ball carrier runs forward and throws the ball straight into the hands of a chaos warrior.

K10: The Chaos warrior runs onto the Self Inflicted side of the pitch. A thrall gets knocked out.

S11: A vampire knocks over the warrior. A vampire picks up the ball and throws it to a vampire, who runs it downfield.

K11: Speedy and TAB knock over the ball carrier.

S12, K12: I have to admit, I didn't pay much attention. I tried and failed to hurt things, I'm sure.

S13: Someone ran in a score.

K13: Self Inflicted gets a blitz. New Guy runs the ball forward.

S14: A vampire goes off to feed in the stands.

K14: Some more blocks, no injuries.

S15: Vamps knock over the ball carrier, lands in the hands of a warrior.

K15: Warrior flubs a pass to Speedy in the end zone.

S16: Two more thralls get knocked over.

Thoughts: *shrug* I don't have much to say about this one. I'm pretty sure that I made enough blocks that more than 1 casualty should've come my way. I'm pretty confident, at this stage, that TAB isn't actually worth the Team Rating invested in him, because I no longer have a player who can run forward on his own with NATAB long dead.

Bay12 Breakers 2 - 2 Monk's Marauders

ank's piles and piles of Inducements get him maximum bribes and a smattering of potions, one of which elevates Girlinhat to a truly beastly ST5. Humans receive, and on the first turn badly hurt a dorf, opening a route for the Catcher to run deep. Dorfs first turn features a runner blitzing at the Catcher, failing the GFI, succeeding on the RR and immediately throwing double skulls. A quick pass and a handoff later sees the humans granted a 1-0 lead by Nuffle.

ank's Deathroller stays on the field thanks to his bribes, and goes on to do what Deathrollers do best. Armor cracks as dorfs grind down the field, sending half a dozen humans to the KO box and inflicting 3 casualties on various meatshields linemen- one MNG, nothing exciting. Dagg gets badly hurt, but the coach gambles with the apothecary and heals him so he can play in the second half. Since most of the humans are either in the dirt or on the sidelines, the dorf Runner doesn't even slow down on his way to the endzone to tie the game 1-1.

The humans line up for another quick score, but the kickoff lands just behind the line of scrimmage and bounces next to a dorf, necessitating a slight change in strategy. A path is opened for rookie Catcher Omo Thunderjaw to run downfield, after which humans swarm the ball. A bit of violence ensues, followed by a blitzer shoving a dorf onto the ball, which bounces around a bit before the AG 5 Thrower snags it. In the waning moments of the half, he gets clear of the pile, throws a perfect pass despite the blinding sun, and watches in frustration as the Catcher flubs the reception. The dorfs knock down some dudes, but don't have anyone in scoring position.

The Deathroller is sent off at the start of the second half, but the humans only have 9 players on the field- unfortunately, they get a Thrower and Catcher back from the KO box instead of the useful Blitzers napping there. Even with Dagg Silent tying up Girlinhat and an assistant blocker, the lightweight human line is outnumbered by the dorfs, and they grind their way downfield once more. Turn 14 the dorf Runner is in position to score- a last ditch effort sees the Ball Removal specialist throw a blitz against him with an assist, but he throws a skull with the RR spent earlier in the play, and the Runner moves in for a 2-1 score.

Undermanned, with the end of match imminent, in suddenly blizzardy conditions, the humans line up for one last offense. Since the Catchers are unconscious, the AG 4 Blitzer is called on to run a deep route while the rest of the humans try to knock down and tie up as many dorfs as possible, the AG 5 Thrower running forward with the ball. Ultimately ank decided he had a better shot to knock down the block-less Thrower than he did to keep the Catcher from dodging, but for the first time in many many blocks he failed to knock down his target. Eomund Tonkai easily slipped away with his great agility, threw a perfect pass to the Blitzer who effortlessly caught it and ran in for the tying score, 2-2

So yeah, I got super lucky for both of my TDs, and I'm kinda surprised ank didn't stall a turn or two on his go-ahead drive. I'm not complaining, since I'm still on the outside looking in as far as playoffs go. Girlinhat caught MVP for the dorfs for beating an Ogre around the pitch all game, and Seneschal Sigric caught MVP for the humans for his end of game heroics in the receiving game. A pair of my blitzers leveled up to boot, so good game for me all around! It would have been a very very different match if that Deathroller had made it one more drive- one of the bribes didn't work, thank-all-that-is-merciful. I'm certainly glad my road to the playoffs makes no more stops with ank's dorfs!

Thanks for the game Monk!

About stalling the game:
I was telling my friend at the time that I probably should just sit on the endzone while stomping the last human survivors, but that I feel it's kinda bad form.

3 turns later I was cursing myself for not being a dick :(

Charmander: We've answered that question repeatedly, and I imagine you don't actually want it answered. You seem content to just beat your face against a wall endlessly, and I should probably just let you continue...

Yeah, but this time you've actually given it justification. I still think six saurus and even a Krox is going to be a massive liability in the forseeable future for the simple fact that my luck is abysmal. I will bone'ead every thirty seconds. And considering I've now had to replace 40% of my team this season alone... yeah. Especially considering that six snotlings can tie up six saurus.

Not exactly how you're supposed to make skinks better defenders when all they get in terms of defence to my knowledge is diving tackle sans doubles. Which, to be fair, proved its worth in the last match.

Not like I've actually got anything to fucking lose at this point, though. Except, to you know, live as tasty fucking SPP pinatas.

Sidestep, block... (blodge skink sure more annoying than your dodge/surefeet one)...

But if you don't want my advice, then just keep beating your face into a wall.

Or play a different team, I suppose.

Block is General. Skinks need doubles for that. They only get Agility skills base.

I forgot about sidestep, though. Useful for keeping tackle zones, if they stay up.

I know it's a doubles, but I noticed one of your doubles skinks was Sure Feet. Which is a lot less useful than Block.
