I applied to the training league with a lizardman team called Scaly and Lazy. I've never played before, so here is to a right fun getting stomped over and over.

As a reminder if you haven't mentioned your time zone yet it's very helpful for scheduling purposes if you could post it in the thread so that those you are playing against know how to adjust the times accordingly.

Luke_Prowler and I have completed our game. Although there was much elf punching, there was very little elf blood. Meanwhile the orcs were less keen on standing up after getting knocked down, giving the elves a numerical advantage (or at least keeping them even) and letting their elfiness do the work to secure a 2-0 result.

Yah, it sounds like minecraft with content, you have obviously missed the point, people dont like content, they like different coloured blocks.
Seems to work fine with my copy. As soon as I loaded the human caravan came by and the world burst into fire.

The first game of the season, between Kanil's elven team, the Shimmering Dragons, and Luke_Prowler's orcs, Ripsaw's Riders, has completed.

In which the elves manage to take down more orcs than the other way around.

A rather grueling display of a weaker force slowly dismantling a bigger one, the first half had the Orc receiving the ball first, and then trying to grind their way through the elves. Unfortunately, the orc's plan to try to hold the elves down failed because the elves double teamed where it did the most damage and even after a heroic attempt to punch through the middle, the elves managed to catch the orc thrower, knock the ball backwards, pick it up, and score a touchdown.

In the second half, it was much the same. The elves received, and easily ran circles around the orc players and surgically knocking out orcs until finally scoring another touchdown. When the Orcs got the ball back afterwards, there was a last ditch effort up the side, but unable to keep the Elves in place, and the ball carrier was knocked down in a last ditch effort trying to run through two tackle zones.

Good game, Kanil. I expect to be smashing left and right, instead I was fed a full filling of humble pie.

I did record the game, but there was so much lag that it's practically unwatchable. I'll still upload it if you guys want, but only then

Match validated.

Also, While looking at the Hall of fame for the main league I saw a ridiculous sight! The two leading throwers are both Khemri!! and the player with the most catches is also a Khemri. WITH 7 Catches!!! I don't even remember throwing the ball that much! :p. I'm savoring this while it lasts because we all know Kanil's elves will overtake my Khemri as far as passing goes before the end of this season.

With just three teams having played more than one game, it's definitely pretty barren, my two TD blitzer should be in the top 10 for scoring already. Also, keep in mind that throwing yardage includes yardage gained while running before a handoff (edit: I'm not actually sure about that. I doubt you threw a 23 square pass, though) -- nobody in the league right now has thrown more than one actual pass!

As for who will be the best thrower at the end of the season? I'd look more towards Raddish than me -- I'm not a huge fan of passing (although I did make a pass in my game, so maybe...)

one square is like 5 yards and if you throw diagonal its like 7 or something, so the 23 yard pass is only like a 3 or four square throw.

Nah, one square is 2 yards. See the guys with 2 passing yards despite never making a pass in their life? That's them getting credited with a one square handoff.

well I know diagonals either count as two squares or 3 yards then, :p. the 23 is probably from a few handoffs and one actual pass I made.

Monk's Morons vs Knives in the Darkness

The Morons elected to receive, putting the ball in the paw of AG 3 Ogre Neils Bohr and pressing forward as hard as they could. Dark Elves flew left and right, either sent flying by Ogre fists or dodging to safety to stall the Ogre advance. It was a long grind down the field, but a Dark Elf turnover led to Bohr making a breakaway run with a pair of snots to escort him. Knives in the Darkness rallied, blanketing the ballcarrier, but Bohr broke a tackle and trucked over the opposing Runner on his way in to the endzone.

Knives in the Darkness weren't able to get much going in the scant turns remaining in the first half (getting little in the way of receivers down the pitch, then failing the pickup anyway) but the halftime break returned the last of their KOs to the pitch, leaving them only without a Lineman with a fractured leg. The kick was short, and Knives surged up the field, taking up several scoring positions. However, the Runner again failed to pick up the ball, sending it skittering towards the Line of Scrimmage. Morons shouted in glee as they smashed their way towards the ball, eventually marking it with an Ogre and a pair of Snots. This didn't deter the Runner from making the pickup this time, however, and he quickly dodged away and handed the ball to a waiting Blitzer. The Blitzer, in turn, ran down the pitch and threw it to another Blitzer who promptly trotted in for the score, 1-1.

With 6 turns to play, the Morons lined up in the same formation as last time and proceeded to press forward urgently, smelling a rare win. The Ogres bunched up in the middle of the pitch, attempting to power through, but a Bonehead left an avenue open for a Blitzer to make a risky blitz. It paid off for the Knives as they scored double Stumbles on the 2d against block, and sent the ballcarrier tumbling to the ground. The ball stayed mostly in the center of the Moronic mass, however, and the Dark Elves were unable to extract it. The Morons spent a turn consolidating, and a snot snagged the ball and hobbled to safety. The Dark Elves suffered a quick turnover on a failed dodge, letting the Morons return the ball to Bohr's safe hands. The Morons punched their way towards the right sideline, and established a solid screen. Knives in the Darkness failed a dodge on their last desperation blitz, and Bohr walked in for the TD with no time for the Dark Elves to equalize.

Monk's Morons 2 - 1 Knives in the Darkness

A good match for the Ogres, who got some needed SPP on the big guys, though the new guy got nothing. A snot caught MVP and leveled up, which could be interesting. More than anything, the Morons got 3 points in the standings, a huge accomplishment for a squad which historically has trouble managing draws.
