To which? Both? I propose a simple being that acts like a normal mine, just with motion sensors and guns that recognize a certain signal. Simple.

Original post: We could also begin the production of security drone (Modifiable gun mounted drones with (non-nuke) explosives. When they run out of ammo are directed to kamikaze directly at the enemy and blow up) These should be quick, cheap, easy, and also manageable since they should not attack if your ship emits a randomly generated metamorphic access code THAT WE MANAGE. We place a bunch of these wherever we want. Tadah! Space DMZ.

Sorry, were the sentry guns not clear? They are fully autonomous and remain actively dead for the most part, kicking awake if the motion sensors (or heat sensors) see something.

We need to elicit a response from the moonies, preferably a peaceful one. Why don't we show them we want to learn their language by sending a set of the terms we know with their translations?

After we establish a passable knowledge of their language, we should ask them if they would like to meet us in person.

We do also need a end of the year party and I personly want to add the idea of cloning one pet per family, weakening the gene that makes the creature aggressive, though.

The Pilot and their cargo handlers paused when they saw that the entire camp is covered in eldritch runes coated in blood. And rotting monkey corpses everywhere..

They decide that they didn't get paid enough for this..

lets let the family decide. and yes, it can be bees, but it needs to be grown with a built in 'off' switch. Careless colonist can cause an ecological breakdown quite easily.

I like this. its as simple as turning off the gene for breeding. Unless we make a really bad roll. Then we might have the issue were it becomes extremely fertile or asexual.
