The worst kind of religion would be some political religion - when people used religious rhetoric and reasoning to make decisions.

As longs as it doesn't hurt anyone nor restricts them from doing what they like, nor it is a danger to the colony permit it. Don't say it as that though.

FIrst ask the man to tell you about his religion, because you're interested, then check if it meets the parameters. If yes permit. If no, don't deny him, but ask him why that is part of his religion

Why not let them build it and oversee the whole project but make it clear that it is only a project and if the AI feels that the project is unsafe or causing problems it will be terminated. A small chapel= not majority of community.

Also This won't be the first. I imagine that there will be a huge influx of religious buildings after this when every religion and sect wants one. Make sure they are all the same size with the same amount of money allocated to them. This will be great for favor. More projects to occupy the people.

I find it hard to believe any blood sacrifice religions still exist. Still though don't allow any religions with harmful beliefs or books that have odd stories or stories that do not match up. I think we want Zen and tibbetan Buddhism and Hinduism (maybe even asceticism??) more than anything else here.

I think you're specific enough there. ( Like you say it religions supporting discrination may get in).

I think we should first ask more about his religion. Any further religions will be treated equally. If his religion does not conflict with the Universal declaration of the rights of the intelligent being(Same as human rights, but expanded to include aliens) and does not conflict with any safety protocols nor endangers the colony then it goes in.

If it does ask him what the conflicting part of the religion means.

First, there exists multiple of these, all over the world. I know of some in Peru, there are some Christian sects that do it( Mainly punishing and hitting themselves and such). Don't make the mistake of saying these primitive religions only excists in undevelopped countries though.

As for peacefull buddhism of Hinduism.  No. They 'll probably block up important things, sabotage our ability defend ourselves, would maybe shut us down because of our acts on the ocean planets. (We are just a computer, and therefore it wouldn't e killing

I'm from America. A religion is something recognized by the state and is tax exempt, everything else is either a cult or splinter cell. Heh. My vocabulary is stunted I guess. Also I'm a devout athiest so this discussion may not be the best for me to partake in. I don't really know what we should do with all of them.
