Random suggestions:

1. Modify the wavelenght of the beam slightly. See how far they can go with their listening/ sending instruments. Don't go near the radioactive wavelenghts though.
2. Send pictures of all the planets and moons and include our names for them ( In morse). The picture of Aries should be not contain the settelment.
3. Construct a giant optical telescope. This thing will allow is to see the moons in detail and search for stars with habitable planets, so we can flee as a last resort.

I feel it is fair to tell you that you are all on your own in terms of organization for the reast of this week.

-Check what the future climate of Aries will be ( Ie calculate future oceans location/ rainshadows and such)
       - Find a piece of to be flooded land that hasn't flooded yet and place a hydroelectrical power plant there. Use robots.
       - Deploy climatological sattelites( To check if weather systems are beginning to form)

- Tech
      - Design a cheap to use multi functional small drone.( Loadouts: Soldier/ Repair bot/ Disrepairbot/ First aid/ Police/....)
-Strong magnetic generators( For magnetic anti rad fields, Microparticle shields bullet deflection, and cloacking ships)
-Continue with the improbable and probably impossible Tesla beam. Also work on Laser point defense systems
-Design electrochemical ammunition for conventional weapons.(Bullets spontanously produces a strong electroshock upon hitting something)
-Design and build a giant space Telescope
-Nano assemblers( Ie nanobots to make nanobots)
       -Quantum computing
-Work on nuclear fusion. ( We have giant laser lenses, this should be trivial)

Feel free to suggest any different thigns to add.

This telescope should be easily done... We have a friggin' death laser, the system is the same.

Yeah. Reflection and focus. If we can get something to reflect that well without melting then we can make a telescope pretty easily. Improved focus could be a thing to add to th research queue. It would improve any telescopes or light, ray or wave based weapons we could hope to make.

We need a solar energy satellite.

It's a satellite, that produces energy via photo voltaic cells.
The energy would be stored in giant accus, that will be transported by a transport space ship!

Since we have giant lenses, why don't we transport it via light?

OOC: The tech notes are excellent, but as each post is only one month, I will generally only allow two research ideas to be investigate per turn, so perhaps bold the two that are most important to you... otherwise I'll take the top two or the two that seem most to fit with what other players are asking for.

Cheap multi-use drones are researched, using a modular function that allows them to do multiple jobs. They are being produced and stored on the surface of Aries. The hydroelectrical plant is finally set up on the site of a future river, and climate satellites are placed in orbit to begin to detect weather patterns when they occur. The temperature is still far too low for any water to melt or evaporate, thoguh.

After consulting the medical database, it is found that enough data is available to construct basic medical robots using the modular drones. These will be able to tend to day-to-day health needs, but lack the sophistication to diagnose advanced diseases and see trends developing. At best, they are a short term solution. A more advanced version could be researched, however.

A small probe is launched towards the moons again, to be left in orbit. It will arrive next month. In the meantime, pictures of the planets are sent to the moons, with Aquarius and Aries labeled by their names in Morse code. Several messages are beamed back, but they once again fail to come through correctly due to some sort of different decoding protocol.

Designs for a space telescope are met with complaints from the captain, who sees it as a poor use of limited resources. "Let's look at the stars when we get all our people off of the ship."

It is a slow month in that regards, with some shuttle maintenance meaning only 400 people make it down. A flu pandemic also rears its head, leaving many workers sick and unable to contribute. Unfortunately, it is rather virulent, and 25 people die from it, including the first couple married on the colony.

Along those lines, a small graveyard is set up outside of the colony, with simple graves set up. This seems to help with some of the grief. The AI catches rumors of panic, as almost 5% of the population has passed away in the last few months. The captain seems at a loss with what to do, and people begin to make calls for a representative government to be formed to take over from him.

On Aquarius, a wicked hurricane-like storm strikes the algae patch. Its ferocity is unlike anything seen on Earth. It effectively destroys the entire harvesting operation, and spreads the algae and plankton well beyond its previous contained area. It now covers nearly 8% of the surface, but that percentage is spread out over a much more diffuse area. "We may have to take drastic measures if we wish to stop this infestation," murmurs the terraformer.

Management plan v 0.1

Emergency : Containment failure.

-Designate the largest/ most dense patch as the new production zone.
-Repair the gatherers and have them scoop up the smaller patches.
-Fire our laser at the center of the ALgae infestation. This will heat up that area, causing the air there to expand and rise. This will lower the pressure there. Since the wind always blows from a high pressure area to low pressure, the wind and waves will gather the algae for us.
-Use our giant space laser to blast away large patches
-Deploy a new virus if all else fails, we should have some in reserve

Prevention of future disasters:
1- Deploy some meteorological sattelites
2.-Use the Giant laser to create an artificial Low pressure core to drawn away dangerous weather forms( Just modify the spread to warm up an entire area)

Medical emergency: Aries
   - Commence Quarantine protocols
   - Antibacterial/ Antiviral airfiltering: Where possible, modify the airfilters to include IV cleaning. ( Safe and efficient. Kills bacteria quite fast). We shouldn't be doing it to often though or the lack of bacteria might weaken/confuse the humans immunosystems.
   - Design a vaccin( Retrovirus that prevents the normal virus RNA from working)

Prevention:
   - Mandatory DNA scanning of all humans ( That way we can find risk groups and also find out who's immune)
   - Mandatory vaccinations. Even for diseases which should have died out
Tech:

- Tech ( This is just a stuff that might be useful list, sorted vaguely on importance)
-Design and build a giant space Telescope( Cheap, also we can use it to look at moons) It should have a modular design. Ie we can use the individual lenses as laser if we want to.
-Nano assemblers( Ie nanobots to make nanobots) ( In order to increase production capacity)
-Quantum computing (In order to be able to decipher everything)

-Strong magnetic generators( For magnetic anti rad fields, Microparticle shields bullet deflection, and cloacking ships)
-Continue with the improbable and probably impossible Tesla beam. Also work on Laser point defense systems
-Design electrochemical ammunition for conventional weapons.(Bullets spontanously produces a strong electroshock upon hitting something)
-Work on nuclear fusion. ( We have giant laser lenses, this should be trivial)

Build a second algea that is better equipped for life inside the dead zone, so that it spreads throughout the rest and hopefully starts to squeeze it out. Make sure it's very flammable.

Then, when the flammable algea reaches the outer rim of the dead zone, light it aflame.

Lightning 8 %+ of a planets surface on fire would destroy the entire ecosystem. Besides, it'll probably take more than a month or three for the flammable algae to reach the edge of the dead zone. Also, the algae live on and just under the surface. They live wherever there's enough light for them. So burning will only clear the surface pop, while the underwater pop spreads.
Last: Things living in and under water tend to be nonflamable.
