Due to real life intervening, game is on indefinite hiatus. Hope you had some fun with it, I know I did. 100+ pages is not too shabby. May return eventually, but no guarantees. Thank you for playing and helping to make this game enjoyable!

If RL is intervening with your work here, I understand; after all, you have done over 100 pages of this game through-and-through. But instead of putting the game on an 'indefinite hiatus', why not pass the responsibilities of GM to some other willing individual? I doubt anyone wants to see this thing just die, least of all you. We can manage it until such time as you are able/wish to return.

Personally I think I'd like to take a shot at it for a little while. Seems easy enough now that I'm used to it, and I have a nearly infinite supply of time to throw around, considering my current lack of employment/girlfriend etc. Might change soon but not heavily that I can foresee.

In any event, I thank you for this very exciting forum game and story. It was quite a memorable experience. Good luck!

I didn't offer to hand the game over this time because I had done so once before and no one seemed interested then. But I would be glad to let an interested GM take over, especially one who has been actively involved in the game.

In that case, I officially hand the game over to you, Xvareon. I will PM you a few half-baked story ideas, but you are now in charge here, so feel free to disregard them if you don't like them. Enjoy!

I will still be around, just can't run a game at the moment. So I will be reading and enjoying!

Oh goodie! I really enjoyed reading this and I was disappointed when it stalled. Can't wait for it to get rolling again.

Many well wishes to our new GM.
And a mournful farewell to the old.

Thank you all for your support. I will do my best not to disappoint. I was going to make an update tonight, but all the data gathering I had to do took up a bunch of time, and my eyes are starting to burn, so I'll try to do it by tomorrow at the very least.

You can use this time to make/revise any suggestions for actions. I could do well with one of those brief, to-the-point wall posts that summarize the major ones, too. Also remember since I don't actually own the thread I can't make/edit the official poll at the top so we'll still have to ask Mal to do that for us.

Sorry but I think I may have to give this at least one more day; I am finding it a bit difficult to decide on Moonie looks/physiology and such. My understanding of biology and evolution is decent but could be better. Can anyone give me a crash course in the possible traits a low-G race that evolved on moons around Gas Giants might have? You may want to PM ideas to me rather than post them here to prevent any possible spoilers.

They would be tall, depending on the conditions, weak, thick-skinned, come up with a hazard and a plausible way to evolve around it and you have a solution

Actually, not. They'll probably be quite massive and large, due to the fact that there's low gravity and temperature (Square cube law). They might be ammonium/ methane based instead of more conventional forms. It's unlikely they'll be able to breath our athmosphere. They'll probably be very energy conservative. Ie slow movement and such.

They might even be capable of "dieing" and reawakening later. All depends on conditions.

Me too.

Anyways, it's unlikely for birds to evolve on a gas giants moon ,due to the extremely low airpressure, which makes it hard to gain lift. It would be possible, if one had a large wingspan, but that would mean a large loss of heat.

Crabs are possible though.
