"I'll enter with two of my men, our weapons concealed. The rest of my men will set up around the village blocking off all exit from the village except one path, the one your men will charge through. If they show signs of hostility my machine gunners will mow down the cavalry unit, and suppress any attempt to fight back, leaving your men clear to charge through, surround them, and end the fight. I only wish to fight if they attack first though."

He thinks about it for a moment, and then nods.

"We would be willing."

With that out of the way you order your men to take up their places around the village. When you get the signal that everything is ready, you and two of your men enter the village. At first nobody notices you, but soon one of the horsemen spots you and yells a cry of warning to his comrades. With well-trained precision they pull out their carbines and aim them at you and your soldiers.

Dive into cover, and yell "We don't want to fight!"

The leader of the horsemen, a large, burly man covered in scars, yells at his men. Since he's speaking German you only understand a few words, but your ears manage to pick up a couple words like Russisch and waffen. The horsemen begrudgingly lower their guns. The sergeant pushes his way through the crowd and rides up to you. He utters another string of German at you, but you still have no idea what he means. Eventually he gets annoyed and turns around to yell at his men for a bit. They shrug, and after more yelling three of them ride over and dismount. Through the use of gestures the sergeant tells you that he wants you to mount the horse.

Since the horsemen don't seem to understand Russian, you yell at your troops to follow you, yet making sure to stay out of sight. Once you and your two men mount the horses the sergeant looks satisfied, and then goes to yell at his men some more. Evidently the man with the glasses has finished conducting his business in the village, and the horsemen form up to leave. As your lack of riding skills is evident, you find yourself in the middle of the column, with a horseman on both sides in case you need help. The three men who gave up their horses to you get a ride with one of their comrades. With everything set you head out.

Your destination soon becomes obvious, namely the army snaking its way through the valley. It takes several hours of hard riding, inter-spaced with a few breaks to tend to the horses, before you reach the army shortly after evening. In the darkness it's hard to pick out any details about the army, especially since they've set up camp and everyone seems to be snoring lazily in the tents. The horsemen lead you through the maze of tents, before finally dropping you off in the hands of a bunch of burly men in dark blue coats with red collars and cuffs. Being around all these large, burly men is starting to erode your opinion about your manliness.

Judging by the large and orate tent which you are standing in front of, somebody very important wants to talk to you.

You confidently enter the tent, sweeping back the entrance with a dramatic flourish. The tent is just as lasciviously decorated on the inside as on the outside. In the middle of the tent sits a large wooden desk, behind which sits a very displeased man attended by two aides. He's balding, and what little hair remains on his head is turning white, though his (almost compulsory) moustache still retains a rich brown colour. He wears a dark blue coat like the guards, though his is made out of a nicer fabric, and has more ornamentations like gold buttons and medals. He cuts your speech  short by yelling at his aides, who then scramble out of the tent. Any further attempts to speak about the glories of communism are vigorously shouted down by the general.

Eventually another man runs into the tent. Like the general he is balding, though his moustache has only a few tinges of colour left. Like the general he wears a dark blue coat, but unbuttoned to reveal a much worn silk vest. He gives a sloppy salute to the general, which earns him a tirade. Soon enough the man turns to you and bows, before speaking to you in a much more understandable version of Russian than the Cossacks.

"Greetings. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Humbert Anton Hintzen, diplomat to his most illustrious king, Frederick William III. And you would be?"

"A simple soldier, come to see if I may be of aid to the King."

((We can betray him later, also did nay of the guards have guns?))

Humbert frowns.

"I'm sorry if I seem rude, but I do not believe you. Let me ask you again. Who are you, and what are you doing here?"

You nervously look past the tent flaps at the guards' muskets, each of them topped with a sharp bayonet.

"A man of Russia, tell me, where are we?

Humbert strokes his moustache in thought for a couple seconds.

"Near Veii, I believe."

"Aye, we're still in Europe. I suspect that a simple Russian peasant such as yourself would never heard about it. I myself had only read about it a few times before we arrived here."

'We are not a peasant, now when can me and my comrades get an assignment, and when can we leave?'
