"Engraved on the wall is a masterful depiction of a human by Logrin.  The artwork relates to Xotano Beastblood The Everseeing Dwelling of Clouds the human vampire recruiting some new human shields companions after his encounter with Ral Firewealthy the Warm Flicker the dragon, during which his face was melted off."

300 human/elf/dwarf/goblin/kobold bodies 20 random animal/fish/bird bodies and 3 dragon bodies all in one backpack. fun stuff.

And the story is fantastic. An empty island, full of undead, forgotten temples, the collossi staring down a cliff, a strnge chicken creature and one lonely adventurer.

I think my only goal is to survive, at this point. Which, despite Vanod's success with the Hill Titan, is highly unlikely. All it takes is sleeping in the wrong place and being jumped by 400 ogres.

So what to do? I mean, I could go around slaughtering more titans, that sounds fun. but I am really curious about the civilizations below ground. The only problem is I hate the underground. And with an outsider I don't know that I'll survive long at all against all the weird and wacky stuff down there. Uh... not that the stuff above-ground is normal, per se.

First thing's first, I want to draw up a map. The island happens to be on the edge of the world, though, so I imagine it's some kind of creepy you'll-fall-off-the-edge plane of existence. Even if Vanod wanted to leave, he can't. Not like he'd want to, there's tons of things to kill here.

For now I'll just post some photos of what I imagine the island to look like (though it'd probably be a lot grimmer, and I would draw it differently from these photos if I had the time, it gives a good idea of it though.

Basalt is an incredible rock, second favourite formation of mine next to the infamous badass bismuth bronze:

And what I imagine some of the forests must look like:

And for the temples/labyrinths/etc carved from basalt, there are some truly remarkable real life examples of basalt temples:

Though of course they'd probably be much more simple, rugged, and grimdark.

Real update will come soon, I think I found something to do. Plus a quick map of the island (what I've discovered so far). Be back soon.

"Adventures on Monster Island" Bay12 Thread slab
Adventures on Monster Island was a legendary Bay12 Thread slab.
The written portion consists of a *UNDEFINED* page chronicle entitled Adventures on Monster Island, authored by Earwig.
It concerns Vanod Openedfires spearman.
The writting is optimistic (60 trolls and still alive!)

that is all.

Same here.
Are you sure you can even get into the underground?

Awesome. I'd say retire Vanod for a minute so you can embark some dwarves to dig you an entrance....but that wouldn't be in keeping with Vanod's nekkid principles....plus it would rob him of his lone man status on the island. Can't wait to see Vanod serve the underground some spear.

Anyways, this has totally inspired me to try to do a monster island as well.

This seems worth watching.

By the way, how did you get Vanod out to an uninhabited, evil volcanic island? Cross a short stretch of ocean?

Nope. It's the only land in the world. Just so people can see this (it's really not much to look at, but it'll drive the point home) this is the worldmap:

See that little speck of dust?

Yep.

Lol, the chances of reproducing that are slim.

Any idea what the actual size of the land mass is, like close to a pocket world? I'm thinking a pocket world with civs turned way down, everything evil jacked way up and a short history would kind of create a monster island.
