Would it not be easier to simply alter the frequency ?

Creature Freq:100, Giant-Creature Freq:50, Creature-Man Freq:15 or something alike.

Did this project ever get anywhere further? I'm intensely interested, as it'd be my favorite "solution" to the animal men problem.

If this is as far as it went, would it be alright if I took it from here?

you may want to add some flavor items and posibly divide the Animal men up into weather you would think they would be hostile skulking freindly or elf like

I'm not sure if animalmen have [CANOPENDOORS]. If they don't, they become absolutely useless.

And I think animalmen only have [CAN_LEARN] and/or [CAN_SPEAK], which would mean they'd have more in common with kobolds than anything else.

animal men do have Can open doors i have just finished(kind of) the raws for friendly (humanlike) freazing creatures i will test them and hopfuly post them tomorrow once i have made parkas

This is so true, animalmen are friendly atleast, depending on circumstances. And dont die to a cat.

If you have one, single [ENTITY:PRIMITIVES] entry with multiple [CREATURE:whatever_MAN] underneath it, they will not crowd out the other civilizations, since the game will weight them the same as a human or an elf civ.  If you have multiple [ENTITY:whatever_MAN_CIV] entries, you'll run into a whole lot of rejected worldgens when you try to get enough civs on the board that there are still humans.
