We played about 4 or so games with Chaosgabe and Nilocy today.

All wins!

Even beat a couple of level 48 clanners. We're all under level 15 by the way. xD

finally managed a victory against Silent Thunder. Pro tip: ALWAYS DEPLOY MORE THAN A SINGLE COMMAND VEHICLE.

Also, Kiowas with hellfire rockets are excellent for early game probing. one of my new favorite units

Yeah, and that last game was a bloody slaughter. Did work out pretty well though. :D

Basically this. It's why I stopped using aerial recon myself.

The Tunguska is the holy grail of AA. Just two will keep an army immune to air (and infantry) forever. NATO doesn't have anything that even comes close. Of course... PACT don't have any aerial recon that are as dangerous as the Kiowa either. xD

Chaperel(sp?) is great nato tool for dropping pesky pact air recon... Doesn't it even have more range than the tung?

It does, but only 4 missiles, no autocannons and no stabilizer. Since you have to buy chappys at max veterancy for them to be useful, they will end up costing the same price.

PACT definitely has a strong AA advantage. But it's not really a problem because like I said, PACT's helis aren't as good (or numerous) as NATO ones. Give and take sort of thing.

Edit:

PACT got smacked hard with the nerfbat. They halved the number of infantry per squad in all the cheap infantry for PACT. This basically means all the non-Russian infantry only get 5 guys instead of 10... which is a pretty damn big deal since it basically means their hp was cut in half. Now I'm pretty sure the advantage lies in NATO's court.

Hello,

It seems that you will not only receive chocolates for Easter this year.

Indeed, a completely free DLC will be available very soon for Wargame. Eugen is checking everything, so until April 12th, prepare and improve your tactics, because battles will soon gain strategic depth!

For more information, you will have to wait a few days more:)

How does this compare (in genre and style) to Close Combat III, if anyone's played the series?

Well, looking at an update log from some time back, the Hellfire missiles were made to be even more ridiculously overpowered, while at the same time the ATAKA V was hit with the nerfbat.

It's official: the Apache is better than the Havoc. Especially, since the Apache's cost was dropped from 175 to 165.

Yes, the Apache is better, but it was always better to begin with.

However, that's not the whole story. Havoc has much longer range and lower supply consumption than the Apache (which can easily drain your entire FOB by itself.) The Havoc is better at operating deep behind enemy lines by itself without any support. Not to mention they don't have to deal with any AA that can one shot them whereas NATO helis have to deal with BUKs which can do just that.

It's a give and take sort of thing. Gotta work with your strengths.

Since the beta days I played about 100 or so matches and didn't lose more then two of those (if one ally disconnects, it's k. ... if two leave, it's k if they left early enough for me to get there points. Sadly, in those cases they made a single heli blob, died and then rage quit).

Btw all the hate on "teammates" that do nothing but heli spam, run into AA and then land next to my FoBs and drain them completely...
