Hooves reluctant to stay attached to ponies.
« on: February 20, 2012, 07:58:28 am »

I had the solution to this problem at one point, but i can't seem to find it again now..
My ponies seem to lose their hooves left and right at the slightest agitation, they just DON'T want to stay attached!

Is this a problem with the hoof material or possibly due to the body plan? ponies use the default hooved quadraped bodyplan, but I've seen horses have the same problem in dwarf fortress.

It would be nice if hooves were to regrow.  Maybe the behavior involved with hydras can help hooves animals keep hooves on their cuticles?  Anyone now if that's a possible modification?

Sail - The end reminds me of a goblin choking a kobold.  No ponies, sorry.

Could you change the category to [CATEGORY:HORN] instead of the [CATEGORY:HOOF_FRONT] and rear. That might make them more durable since you can vary the thickness of the bone?

Adding [EMBEDDED] to the hoof body part makes it stick to the leg permanently. It will not budge, unless you cut off the leg itself.

Ah! That did the trick! Think that was what i did the last time actually :P

While we're on the subject of hooves, is damage done by kicking affected by the material of the limb used to kick with?
