Also, if you're going to argue that "gypsy" has totally diverged from its original meaning and simply refers to a lifestyle now: That hasn't happened, and it doesn't. "Gypsy" still carries plenty of connotations with it, like being a thief or some kind of mystical vabagond, and a traveling wastrel of sorts. At its least ethnically-charged, t's an entire character archetype, or loose group of them, not just a profession or lifestyle. It has about as many (mostly negative) connotations as "wetback", the n-word, "faggot", or any other slur you can think of. Hell, I even looked in dictionaries, and the most charitable definition I can find amounts to "people who act the way gypsies act".

You can take it into the Annoyance thread if you wish, but if it persists here then I will report all involved parties it to Toady, this thread is for saying goodbye to Vector, not insulting each other or arguing over who's definition of racial stereotype is correct.
