Someone found a Dwarf swimming around happily in magma until he drowned, so it appears to still have not been fixed.

But you have to get a clown that shoots silk out of the flower on his lapel instead of the more common fire and face melting juicey extracts.

How would you safely collect? The kitten method?

(Kitten waterfall drops kitten approx 2 zlevels to the silking room. This stuns the kitten, but doesn't noticeably harm it.  The kitten falls near the edge of the containment chasm, clown sprays the silk, and kills the kitten. Some of the silk oversprays the containment and onto the collection surface. Kitten release is suspended with a hatch lever. Dwarves safely collect fire and magma immune silk?)

Man, I hope webs and such can't carry syndromes. Or else the act of donning a new pair of socks could spell doom for the unwary dwarf. Horrible blistery burning oozing doom.

Not only could you make magmaproof clothes, it would be real easy to cover dwarfs from head to toe in this silk with just a robe, mittens, socks and hood. All we need to do is cover a vampire in this stuff and drop him in the magma sea and watch him fight all the fire imps.

My vampire is magma-proof.

Actually i'm pretty sure you're right and he did fix the issue with fire burning your fat instead of your skin. I think. Right?

Yeah I was talking about the wrong thing, I used to have trouble getting regular clothes to catch fire when someone was wearing them. Fire's been changed but I think fat still plays a bigger role than it should.

Then throw him in the magma pump chamber to kill the magma fauna.
