The secrets of life and death are what Aachen was referring to. There aren't any other necromancer powers yet.

Anyway, Dark Towers/Fortresses are where the goblins live. When they still appeared in-game and could be visited, they were obsidian towers of varying height, with possibly more than one in the same area. Necromancer Towers are the towers that necromancers force their zombie slaves to build for them after they learn the secrets of life and death and run away from society.
...
Then what the hell am I looking at here?
Maybe I can learn the name, retire my Necro, and use legends.

A necromancer tower, since dark fortresses can't be visited in adventure mode anymore.

This is strange. The games seems to have respawned the books I took. For example I have "The Law Giver: Abriged" in my pack yet its on the floor right now!

Yeah, I was just asking if you were a necromancer. Undead like them some necromancer friends, after all. So it's not surprise that zombies would let you be at the tower. It's definitely a necromancer's pad.

I think the issue with books (artifacts generally, from other posts I've seen) is known. In fact, it seems remarkably similar to reports (and personal experiences) of various named figures being killed and respawning to be killed again.

Hold your tounge! I was half right, the so called 'Dark Fortress' is really called Laudedfling. When examined I discovered that Laudedfling is not a Dark Fortress but a regular fortress. Yet legends does list the book storring. So apparently fortress can be taken over by Necros or camel brutes in my case.
Laudedfling has a history started when Xan the camel brute (probably forcefuly) settled in it. About 20+ were created their before some basterd adventure snuck in and stole them all. So what the hell is a camel brute anyway? Legends lists the words "Beware its webs!", dosen't that mean its a FB or a titan?

Are night creature friendly to Necros? May have to talk to it. Then again, I used to hunt Night Creatures alot before bandits became gods. Never ment one like that before, always things like 'Freak Spouse of Shadow' and 'Man of Twilight'.

camel brutes are, AFAIK, demons. Brute is a type of demon, and they can be animals, so...

Agreed. Demons are procedurally generated, so they vary in specific abilities as well, don't they?

FFF: Fair enough. I didn't mean to imply it had to be a Tower; rather I meant it could not be a dark fortress. Have you looked at the biome info for the keep's vicinity? When did Xan settle? Any slabs listed in the artifacts created by him? Apprentices?

I have not checked for slabs or apprentices, I'll do that maybe see where he she is and get a discription.
Update: So Xan started wandering the underworld in a time before time, confirming it is a demon clown. So how do demons clowns escape HFS? Does this mean there is an entrence to it? I digress. Xan never took on any apprentices nor is she considered a Necro (also never created any slabs). I thought that only Necromancers could create books? Maybe its any 'mythical creature'. Xan never moved from her home in Laudedfling meaning Im sharring a pad with an eyeless camel demon thats been living for 1050 years. Never picked any fights so I doubt she has good combat skills.
