Roll To Apocalypse Turn One: Gas and Supplies
« on: February 19, 2012, 12:09:43 pm »

Welcome to EVAC SHELTER 453, Citizen! If you have been alerted to get to your nearest shelter (This one!), this means that there has been a serious attack on American soil. This could be a plague, nuclear war or a terrorist attack. These shelters were constructed for the purpose of shielding people for days until rescue arrives, which at most is only a few days away. We have supplied food, water and entertainment for adults and children. Beds are downstairs, food is in the machines and entertainment is in the cupboard. Relax, and wait for rescue. Now playing calming music.

It all started when some sort of disease started to spread around. It infected people, causing them to turn into what can only be described as the undead. But, it only got worse from there. Not only did they mutate, but apparently this was a cue for something else to come through the veil of reality. It broke through, and now it's gone. But it mutated most who weren't infected, turning into demonic creatures. This was happening all over the world, and the combined forces of all the world's military could not stop it. You were sent to an evac shelter. When you got there, there was only four others there. You all waited for the sound of a helicopter.

It never came.

Now, you are running out of supplies. You have to brave the hell that the world has become, now that the shelter is no longer viable.

But just who are you?

Seems interesting enough.
Name: Jack Scott
Gender: Male

Job: Programmer for video games

Bio: He lived a satisfactory life, he was able to make a close group of friends, get a great job, but he never found a lover, but that never got to him. His life was fine as is. The day the plague hit though, that shattered everything. He was always a bit paranoid, saying either a new plague would break out, or there would be some sort of nuclear winter. Suffice to say, he went out of the workplace sprinting to the shelter when he heard the military had failed.

Appearance: He is slightly overweight, but not enough to effect stamina, has a goatee and has short cut hair. His hair and eyes are brown and he wears glasses. He has a slightly round face.
Personality: He is very patient, he usually has a comeback if there is an argument. He is very quiet and usually to himself, but can take charge if he needs to. He is very good with a computer.

Name: Jacob
Gender: Male
Job: Hobo
Bio: After abandoning his last life, he learnt about surviving on the streets and getting the jobs that nobody else would, it is said he now moves on the sewers going out for loot
But...
While exploring the sewers to put barricades in, he found some tunnels which didn't appear on the map, he ran there in curiosity, and saw a hatch leading upwards, there he found the shelter, quite a massive coincidence.
Appearance: he has got a gasmask since the infection kicked in, having a ragged dusty green sweater, black fingerless gloves and some dusty blue pants, he is also got a pair of shoes
Personality: paranoid about the infection he will run a 'shoot first ask later policy' but if you actually earn his trust you will find a rough but useful hobo.

Aw yeah

Edit: added the needed part of the bio

Ah, one thing.

You have to be in the evac shelter for a significant duration of time. It's been seven days since the apocalypse began, so you have to spend three days in the evac shelter at least. So, Riccto and Raptor should edit their bios.

Name: Frank Seale

Gender:Male

Job: College Student

Age: 22

Bio:He was born in a small farming town in Texas, he spent the earlier years of his life there working as a ranch hand for one of the larger ranches near his house. After a few years he had enough money saved up to go to college so he ended up moving into one of the cities with a reputable college. When the warning to head to the shelters came he grabbed his favorite pair of boots and his lucky hat and high-tailed it to the nearest shelter. After sitting around in the shelter for a few days as their supplies dwindled he finally went stir crazy and decided to leave the shelter.

Appearance: A short man with a rather sturdy build. His long brown hair comes down a lil past his shoulders though he often wears it back in a pony tail. He is fit.

In.

Name: David Johnson
Gender: Male
Job: "Facilitator"
Bio: In high school, David wasn't the kid selling the drugs. No, he was the kid who could direct you to the guy selling the good stuff, for a fee of course. When he left high school he started working with some of the local gangs, hooking them up to drug suppliers and making sure that the cops didn't find any evidence. However, when the disease started, he decided to abandon the gangs and their plan to hide in an old nuclear shelter, and try his luck with the government evac center instead.
Appearance: Tall, dark hair and pale skin, with cold blue eyes.
Personality: Cold, resevered, doesn't suffer fools gladly; in fact, they usually suffer a bullet to the face.

5 squares per limb, if you raise the north orthoclase bridge before sacrificing one of them so they have a straight shot to the bottom of the chasm.

The evac shelter is mainly made out of strong plaster, with concrete on the outside. The floor is a soft carpet, comfortable to lie down on. It is very large, being the size of a house with many rooms, but it is oddly empty. A building made for sixty is only occupied by five people. Downstairs is the dorms, and upstairs is a helipad. Frank had put a chair near the helipad, and had spent many days up there staring at the sky. Waiting to be the first to talk to the rescuers. However, it never came, and food is running out. The five occupants of the shelter were sitting in the lounge, wondering what to do. The nearest city was a mile up the road, with lots of small towns in-between. They had no gasoline, so they would have to walk to the closest town if they wanted to get further without wasting daylight. Even then, they only had a motorbike and a broken down car. They had to decide.

"Right, we may need to send out people...probably 2 for a scouting party to scavenge supplies.  Two would be less likely noticed then all of us together...we need to scrounge around for weapons, or find something along the way..." Jack pretty much regretted the idea he said it, but it's too late now to unsay what he said.
