Quivers and Waterskins?
« on: February 19, 2012, 02:43:08 am »

These are the only two items I seem to have trouble finding for sale. I think I've seen a quiver once a general import store, but after about 30 minutes of wandering through trying to spend my money, nadda. I haven't seen a waterskin for sale anywhere. Any sightings?

If you don't mind searching for and "liberating" them, I've found there are quite a few to be had in the keeps.

When I was reorganizing my inventory to fit all by books on life and death into various bags and things, I looked at my inventory and saw that I was multigrasping a necromancer slab.  It was pretty hilarious.
I think that would be an excellent way to impart the critical lessons of life and death to the ignorant masses.

Waterskins are kinda crappy, you can hold more water in a bucket, jug, or barrel.  The only advantage is you can wear it on your body if you don't have a backpack.

Quivers are easily attainable anywhere there are bandits, be careful not to get shot though :/

I hold my water in quivers.

What I want to know is - where are all the weapon shops?

I don't like using quivers for water because I use bows and crossbows, it's annoying when I try to recover my arrows and I can't put them in the quiver.  As for weapon and armor shops, there are usually only one of each per town.

I have found one backpack (floor of random lair) in 6 or so adventures (using human outsider and he doesn't come with one).

Nobody's carrying them, nobody's selling them. I've been to over 20 stores, leather clothing, cloth clothing, and foreign clothing, nothing. Life without a backpack is doable but annoying.

And speaking of the armor smith, he has yet to have any good for sale, over several worlds and versions.

So no one has actually seen a waterskin or quiver for sale? You'd think these shop owners would think about selling some accessories....(also an outfitters shop, with backpacks, doesn't sound like a bad idea.)

It's kind of bad to just drink blood you know, just find a river and drink from it, there are so much rivers that it shouldn't be a problem anyway right?

I've found 1 weapon shop, no armour shops, in a good 10 adventures. :S

I think it's the way towns develop now. In the beginning, people move into a town. Then they start producing tables, which results in more and more tables. Soon tables represent a significant portion of the population, they start lobbying for new laws and regulations, putting people to greater and greater disadvantage...

I would trade my right arm for a backpack at this point.

Please let me know if you see one for sale and what kind of shop it is.
