A crash in description of a transformed creature (bug?) [fixed]

I have this nice critter:

The problem is: whenever I try to look at the description of a creature which was bitten by it and transformed, it leads to a crash.

In The Witchcraft mod transformation through an edible syndrome works fine (elixir), so it may be something related to the biting and injecting... Or something I miss. Any ideas?

I'm messing with fort mode transformations now, and seem to get random crashes. Not 100% of the time on the same creature. It's odd.

I think it's the way towns develop now. In the beginning, people move into a town. Then they start producing tables, which results in more and more tables. Soon tables represent a significant portion of the population, they start lobbying for new laws and regulations, putting people to greater and greater disadvantage...

This crash ALWAYS happens when I try to see a description of a transformed critter.

Welp, apparently it happens whenever a creature transforms after a direct bite with injection (like GCS bite). If nobody has managed to do it properly yet, I will make a report on Mantis.

Well I've had issues which are nothing to do with injection. Mine was using SYN_INHALED. Maybe only SYN_INJESTED works and the other 3 crash or something.

I've had crashes like this, too. Probably crashes due to descriptors, although that's just a hunch.

I had the crash too, fixed it with porper naming of castes and caste descriptions. The transformed creature  needs to have a caste, otherwise I did not work for me.

Also: I try the same that you are doing here for zombies, Zombie bite = new zombie. Please tell me how it goes, because I except one massive problem: Total extinction of all other lifeforms in worldgen. Thats why I havent done anything with it yet.

EDIT: Read your raws again, you have no caste description.

Huh, it's great that it's so simple, Meph! However, am I really THAT stupid in 2 AM?

What do I do wrong? Enlighten me so I could facepalm in the morning :).

P.S. Do you mean that each caste should have DESCRIPTION instead of a general description under main creature section? It has never been a problem before.

DERP! It fixed it. However I think it shouldn't be an issue in the first place, so a bug report may be needed.

Did you do it through interactions? I am not sure if "normal" bites are registering transformations in worldgen, I haven't tested it yet.

And No, I did not test it yet. I wrote custom attacks for runic weapons in the meantime. ^^ I am curious as how your creature will turn out, and if everyone will become a bodysnatcher. (great movie with donlad sutherland btw) And no interactions, I use a injected syndrome in the zombie saliva.

It seems this bug may also happen if you transform into a default creature.  I have an interaction that turns me into a wolf, and I sometimes get a crash when I view my description while transformed.  It doesn't always happen though, oddly.  Assuming the crash I'm having is the same as yours, this does seem like a bug to me, even if you can fix it by adding caste-level descriptions.

Yes, moving descriptions to castes (and CASTE_NAME too just for safety) fixed it for me. The Thing will live! :)
