Only get human embarks.

can only seem to embark as humans; theres no dwarves in any worlds I generate available for adventure mode nor fort mode.

Anyone know whats going on?

You probably shouldn't be embarking as humans at all unless something is modded. Have you tried downloading a clean copy of DF?
