What's the maximum range a dwarf can be from a death for it to count toward the "doesn't really care about anything anymore" trait?

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

Do the happy thoughts from multiple mist generators stack?

I tamed an impala, and chained it in a field to keep it if it lost training. It didn't, but it ran out of food, despite being in a pasture zone, on top of real forage. Normal behavior? Chained animals need to be fed??

Very normal.  Don't chain grazers.

According to the wiki:
http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Pasture

You'll want a 4x4 area for an impala grazing.  A chain gives you, at best, 3x3.  That'll depend on how much rock is in that area, if it grows dense or only sparse, etc...

I figured. What's annoying is that it appears that there is still grass present (i.e. it's not all trampled or eaten). I suppose those are two different processes. I've never chained a grazer, but didn't want this impala to bolt if it went semi-wild (which I think it did).

I understand that forgotten beasts are randomly generated, but does this occur during actual play, or does it happen during world gen?  Is it possible for them to go extinct?

It happens in world gen. They can theoretically go extinct.

I tried to use drawbridge (yes I chose direction on all of them) ... linked 4 or 5 consecutive drawbridges to a single lever and yet when pulled, only 2 bridges changed (at least visually) ... tried it several times

Raising bridges that are one tile wide don't change visually if they're raising a certain way. 1 x whatever bridges don't change when raising east or west, and whatever x 1 bridges don't change when raising north or south.

Though they are immune to being killed by most normal creatures during world gen, so it would be rare for them to be completely extinct

Driving FBs to extinction is one of my long-term goals for my current fortress.  I looked up the total number of FBs in Legends mode.  27 down, 216 to go!

Does anyone know how to tell what items, dwarfes have grown attached to from the stocks screen?

That's what DF needs, The gutbuster brigade.  Screw that elf and his cat. Thibbledorf Pwent is the real hero.

Does scorching temperature only affect murky pools? If I make an above-ground cistern, will it evaporate even if it has deep water?
