Humble Bundle Mojam
« on: February 17, 2012, 12:25:25 pm »

Mojang is participating in a Humble Bundle of their own.

They're making a real-time strategy shoot 'em up with a steampunk ancient Egypt theme this weekend. It's not exactly my cup of tea, but I'm sure someone on here would like it.

I kinda liked the sound of an ancient Egypt steampunk RTS racing game a bit more.

We need more genres.

I might get it later on in the bundle. It looks like it's just the one game, so there aren't any incentives to beat the average.

Edit: The live feed is kind of cool. I'd definitely like to work at Mojang.

If anyone is wondering why they chose that particular setting and genre, they had a poll. The most and least voted for categories in setting and genre were all combined.

Maybe it's parasitic. It never loses its flavor because you eventually die from having your nutrients stolen by it.

HOLY SHIT IS THAT THE ZELDA 2 DUNGEON THEME?

*keeps the video open in the background*

I wish I understood what they are talking about. The only thing I understood was "Pocky and Rocky"

I'll admit, it's interesting watching the game development process.

To think, I almost made it into this field (original career path; graphic design, second). Only thing holding me back was my math skills to get the degree, and in hindsight, my lack of total devotion/motivation to stay in the career. Come and think of it, I think it was best I didn't go any further into the career; my attention span for projects seems way too short to stick to just one project.

EDIT:
Additionally, I like their taste in music as they work. Keeping the stream up in the background as I do other things.

Same page as the Mojang one, click on Wolfire Aubrey or Wolfire David to change to a different stream. Presumably of Wolfire people.

The latter one has explosions.
