Even 2010 wasn't this bad.
It definitely was. Just look up all the cry about new military screen - it was insane. Plus healthcare bugs and some other random stuff, game was broken and people were bitching A LOT.
Compared to that, .34 reception is much better, many people consider it bug-free (I for one, as I didn't encounter any crashes besides long worldgens yet, and rest of stuff, like mosquito flocks, are FEATURES).

Yeah, 2010 was much, much worse.  For a big release, this one has gone incredibly smoothly, and Toady has already fixed the serious game-breakers.

For some reason, talking about dwarf feces or guts being spilled out or bashing elven girls with vomit is perfectly fine on Bay12 but Armok help you if you emit the slightest hint of impatience at a release.

Probably because those former things don't imply anything negative about the people talking about them.

What's so negative in expressing your wish that good stuff happens sooner rather than later?

It fails to consider that behind the good stuff there is a person.

It's more the wording than simply "expressing your wish."

There's a difference between going "man, I hope these bugs get fixed soon! Can't wait!" and holding one's hand out expectantly saying "now please."

It's the expectation that Toady should care about your desire. As if he should work faster just to appease you. Merely expressing your desire of things to be faster is fine; expressing that desire as if it should affect Toady's work in any way, shape, or form is not.

Don't listen to everyone, OP.

There are mean people everywhere, even in this forum. I had my share of it. Seriously guys, was it really this important to just talk about it for 3 pages? I think he got that in the first page.

I don't think "Bug Fix update, now please" means "GIVE ME MY BUGFIX YOU DUMB DEV I DEMAND IT" like you guys seem to understand

Considering that this current version has CTD bugs and other serious anomalies, it would be wise to release the update early, even if there are still some bugs lingering.

It just got out.

BTW there will be always bugs. And entire point for bugfix releases is fix a little, release a little, rinse, repeat. I hope it will be long phase, with many releases and fruitful.

>suggest a modding solution to get rid of bazillion bandits
>thread explodes into tirade about people not being content with what we're getting
>Welp.

Also, 2010 was worse than this, I agree. I didn't really bother complaining too much because it was such a huge update on a whooooole lot of things that there were bound to be bugs. AND OH GOD WERE THERE BUGS. Stupid doctors, arsenal dorf who screwed up the military every single time, bugged soapmaking, blood being tracked all over everywhere... Comparing to what we got now, we actually are doing pretty good. I haven't bumped into any horrible bug myself yet, unlike back in 2010 release, so hooray?

But I guess we should let this thread die now.

Yeah, I'll go ahead and lock it before anything worse happens.
