I've been looking for an excuse to share some work. I've been rolling with a few custom interactions since March, and have been updating them to 40.x for about a week now. This is the only one I have that I feel is ready at the moment.

I wanted an actual werewolf to hunt instead of a naked guy that sometimes turns into a rabid squirrel, so I made a megabeast to fill the niche. I took it a step further by putting a werecurse interaction into its bite. Then I took that a step further by giving the victim the ability to transform at will.

It works perfectly, both the the megabeast its surviving victims behave like normal werebeasts, transforming with the lunar cycle as normal and changing when threatened as well. The ability to transform at will makes all the difference, capable of turning the tide of battle in a heartbeat. You can't get an easy kill on one, even if you attack one when it's not that time of the month, it will just transform to defend itself.
The were-megabeast itself is no pushover either. Almost twice the size of a minotaur, it's more than capable of knocking you down and making sure you never get back up. Even large groups of enemies such as bandit camps pose little threat to one when controlled by a player. What's more, they're capable of wielding weapons, and you can continue to use yours while transformed.

I've since expanded this curse into many variant forms, but the core principle has remained the same, and the original has a special place in my heart.

I might have more later. I'm only available for two days every two weeks, so don't hold your breath.

Edit: Oh, ArKFallen beat me to it. Mine is a little more basic than that one, it's focused less on the healing aspect of transformations and more on turning into a lycanthropic engine of destruction. I like the direction his took, being able to heal yourself like that is always a good thing.

There is definitely some awesome material here.  Hopefully necro let some new people see this thread.  The level up system was pretty creative, Hugo.  I am not much of a modder, I mostly use other mods, and add tweaks or variants of other mods, so this thread is just the thing I need when I want to add a little variety to the vanilla DF or another mod.

Here's a fast one for enlightening barnyard animals so they can be your companions.

Raise your social awareness at character creation, and your adventurer will be able to recruit companions easier, no modding needed.

If you modded animals to be more adventurous (or risk-taking?) they were more willing to join you on your adventures in 34.11. It would probably be worth it to test if that works in the new version too.

Can you change personalities in game with interactions?  If so, you could make a spell to warp the traits of the target to make them more susceptible to join your cause.

As far as I know, there's no syndrome to change personality traits. You can change mental attributes however.

Here, I tried modifying Grackle's code into an interaction that just makes the target super persuasive.  Target yourself, and then recruit all the peasants you want.  Haven't tested yet, will try tomorrow.

I made a wizard interaction secret that functions similar to how necromancers do. They cast fireballs, can do some dizzyness and drowsiness syndromes as well as a paralysis syndrome that won't kill dwarfs, but might kill smaller things, and finally they can slow time down shortly(sorta).

Just throw the raw/data files in with your other files and merge, then gen a world.

Files and stuff if you don't want to download, most of them are so the wizards say funny things:

Throw these in /data/speech/

In a game like Dwarf Fortress, going to the wiki being cheating is like saying bringing a parachute is cheating for skydiving.

Not at the moment, no. That functionality is tied to the [UNIQUE_DEMON] tag, which can only be used by the unique randomly generated demons.

Another question, would it be possible to create a spell that causes a creature to be "sent flying by the force of the blow" but with minimal damage from the attack itself

the directed dust tag can do that(if you don't mind catapulting yourself too) but apparently there is no other way

Hmm is there any way for a creature to be immune to being knocked over? like if it increased your weight before the interaction took effect
