My humans are turning evil?

I just noticed during worldgen that there's a road connecting a human town (actually "dalemen" - it's a modded game, but the entity is pretty much the same as vanilla humans) to a dark fortress... and the map says it's the Dark Daleman Fortress of Akulukge.  Since that looks fairly strange, I've checked Legends Mode to check out the site.

It turns out that after a war between them and the goblins, the civs made peace and the humans started settling in the dark fortress... after which they apparently embraced goblin culture and started baby-snatching, murdering each other and devouring sentient species. And apparently the home civ doesn't mind it at all. (Though it is ruled by a demon...) Is this normal?

I've also encountered evil humans and elves with goblin names. It's normal, and pretty cool if you ask me :D

This menaces with spikes of awesome. One of the classic fantasy elements, after all, is civilizations getting corrupted by evil.

I wonder if the reverse is also possible, i.e. Goblins adopting human values and starting to act all ethical...

Certainly you could argue that DF is a lot like The Sims, only... you know... with more vomit and decapitation.
If you launch a wooden mine cart towards the ocean at a sufficient speed, you can have your entire dwarf sail away in an ark.

Nope. It's just how the naming conventions work. A Dark Human Fortress is just a Dark Goblin Fortress taken over and populated by conquering humans.

If you check out the civ screen or legends mode, you'll see that it was a former goblin tower and it belongs to a perfectly normal human civilization.

Conquer and pillage, renaming those names.

Yep, totally normal, just a feature that was removed in DF2010 but present in the older versions. A year ago.

Not so normal human civilization... it's like people of Gondor settling in Minas Morgul three days after destruction of the One Ring.
