How to Survive
« on: February 16, 2012, 07:31:56 pm »

As you're all aware, the new version of adventure mode is much much more difficult. As you all may not be aware, there is a very very simple reason why: You don't start with any armour. So, how do you get armour? Simple! Go into a law-giver's castle and take it. He's hoarded it all there but doesn't mind if you come and take your pick. Once you've done that, things get much much easier to handle.

You didn't start with armor in older versions either, unless you count dresses as armor.

Not true! You'd get a shitty copper shirt and a pair of leggings if you started with high armour skill.

Armor doesn't do sh*t in this version, I had an adventurer get brained with a silver arrow that pierced candy.
My Contribution: Train in dungeons, theres loot, gold, and valuble fighting experiance down there.

You're clearly not wearing enough armour. Enough armour is when you have 2 suits of chainmail, a breastplate, two metal caps, a helm, two chain leggings, a set of high boots and eleven shields.

You forgot gauntlets and mittens. Because you're just not safe until you can't grasp things properly.
Edit: you can't exactly grab things properly when you're missing your hand either, so I guess I can forgive the mittens

Did you just forget gauntlets? Wielding those shields will be kinda hard without hands.

It honestly feels like a lot of their problems came from the fact that their entire team was composed of cats, and the people who were supposed to be herding them were also cats.

Drink a bit of vampire blood. Game is much easier then.

The entire content consists of senseless murder, a pile of faceless naked women and zero regard for human life in general, all in the service of the protagonist's base impulses. It is clearly a cry for help from a neglected, self absorbed and disempowered juvenile badly in need of affectionate guidance. What a sad, sad display.

I can't cut bronze with iron on a defenseless target.  I wonder if it was reversed again.

.....*SIGH*
Damnit not again.

it does, but it is pure luck if the town you start in hosts a vampire.  anything outside of this town is a good chance to have yourself ambushed and slaughtered.

I used to sometimes start with Grand Master Armor User and nothing else and still didn't get any armor.

I agree with the OP if by armor you mean living armor. You must always bring meatshields. Many, many meatshields. Become a necromancer for reusable meatshields.

Ranged combat is deadly again, which means you can't roleplay Beowulf anymore.
