Fingers/toes broken and smashed open
« on: February 16, 2012, 03:41:48 pm »

Is there a way to heal this at all?  In the previous version, it seemed like my adventurers had those permanently.

Doesn't seem so unless doctors actually do anything useful.

Yeah, nails don't heal for god knows what reason... you have to change their healing rates in the raws or your dude will die from infection.

In real life if you lose the cuticle (that tiny crescent moon thing at the base of it) the nail won't grow back. Learned this the hard way.

well, you could retire, find your adventurer with a legendary biter, and bite off the infected appendage.  otherwise, infection (which eventually took hold on open wounds) was indeed a death sentence.

but then again it was unlikely for you to actually live long enough for the infection to kill....  i think it was three ingame months or more.

Or have your hand burned by (dragon)fire, burn off the fat and cauterize the wound!

i think were-ism cures all wounds after you change to and from your beast form. i know for a fact my adventurer regenerated his lost hand.

My adventurer's finger nail just got infected. If I retired him in an empty Dwarf town, would he eventually get better?

Does anyone know if Dwarven towns actually exist? The ones I have seen have been empty areas. Will my Dwarf be the only one in that town and just stay there or would he be considered for action among the entire civilization?

Somehow I get the feeling that retiring your adventurer, after you get an infection, will lead to death.

Dwarven towns don't exist in the current version, only humans build adventurer-visitable sites.

you gotta mod your game slightly so they heal, they currently will never EVER heal, and at least you didn't have your face melted off :D

300 human/elf/dwarf/goblin/kobold bodies 20 random animal/fish/bird bodies and 3 dragon bodies all in one backpack. fun stuff.

I think there will eventually be a time in adventure mode where doctors/bone doctors are of use. It'll make things more realistic~  :P

Unless you tell the game (via the textfiles in /raws/ ) before world generation that dwarves should build cities instead of mountain halls. In this case dwarven civs work like human civs with regard to adventure visitable towns
