Hello Dwarf Fortress People
« on: February 16, 2012, 02:42:28 pm »

Hello All.

I have been lurking on these forums for a while now, have been playing DF since a little while before 0.31.11 was released and have had a lot of fun and also a lot of ‼Fun‼. Must say I am very happy with the new version wether you cal it DFVD or DF2012 doesn't bother me either way. The Evil rain is so far my favourite feature of the new version, started up a fort in a sinister Mountain/sinister grasslands and immediately the toxic slime pours down on my poor dwarfs Hapless Victims giving them bruises on every single part of their anatomy and killing them in mere seconds of game time, turning into zombies who didn't get a chance to feast on their ex colleagues before they too succumbed to the rain and the civilisation withered. Loved every second of it.

Anyway, Can't wait til I get a fort running long enough to have a Necromancer visit, hehe! That'll be even more ‼Fun‼

Hi and welcome!  I'm looking forward to trying the new version(hopefully this weekend).  My next planned fort is an ocean-side above ground fishing/textile village, we'll see how that goes.   :P

To put it simply, Dwarf Fortress is the Black Metal of video games.

This roughly translates to 'We will fight them on the beaches!"
I don't really understand why one would use such a quote here, but I assure you it is 100% accurate.

Oh, this thread again.

Smiles and looks into the middle distance.

I remember those days. They were good.

Sigh.

Where have they gone?
