Embark with Mirthful, or according to Google, "Gay" Surroundings?

I was browsing through embark spots on a large world. I noticed one which I thought may be fine, and I say the surroundings which were "Mirthful". Google says that means it is "Gay", or, "Happy" in other words.

Is this new in 0.34?

one thing people tend to forget, gay did not always mean homo, try looking up the definition of gay and you'll see what i mean.

The juxtaposition with "mirthful" makes that fairly obvious here, I think. Certainly nobody claimed to think otherwise.
