Removing campfires

The situation: I am in a cave, and there is a campfire at the entrance. There is no way around it. I can't fast travel either.

Any way to completely remove it? I've waited a couple in game days, but am running out of food/water. Does it go away after a certain amount of time?

If you are referring to the thread by Teldin, it was made not even a minute before mine. I didn't see it there when I went to create mine. Also, his situation is slightly different from mine.
