I wonder if you can mod them to be syndrome carriers?

Though there will no longer be huge swarms of monsters.

I think that perhaps we should remember this so we can suggest Toady give some creatures a new special siege tag which is where they attack fortresses on mass like they were an army.

Then how about instead of using the regular siege message,
it says "A swarm of [bug name]s have been spotted in the distance!" or something like that?

edit: well I can't make it sound good..

That'd actually be a pretty neat event.

"Stampede of whatever" for ground based animals, instead of swarm.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

"A swarm of giant ants are storming the fortress" Event...

Somehow very appropriate for the game.

It happened to me too... only they decided to attack my dwarves, my militia is fighting them off. I'm in year two

*UPDATE*

So far 3 of my dwarves died, this is really annoying. Also the mosquito corpses are piling up, at least I'm not going to run out of food for the time being

I support this so much.

I have not played too much since then due to studying, but I have spare time now so I will put in a few hours. I expect they will be back so I was wondering how strong they are. I am still training up my militia so I am worried that they will be too fun for me to handle when they return

EDIT: I hope they have bones, I always have a great bone carver who would just love to have some bones to turn into practice arrows, and as for the food aspect, I am sure my dwarfs would love a break from all the plump helmet ;)

Oh, you poor dwarf!

You need some horrifying sprites for those giant mosquitos.
I'll get right on it. :D
