Well, I'm currently try to run my experiment. I keep dying horribly or crashing. Or both.

Adventure mode is hard, and there's no hacks to speed things up =(.

Well-documented crash bug - though I don't have any links, sorry. It's related to memory, if I understand right. Try genning a smaller world (yeah, I know, fewer towns and necromancers harder to find).

As to adv. mode, it can be pretty tough to somebody used to playing fortress mode - they're completely different beasts. Different people tend to hang around the adv. mode forum, too - you could probably get some good input by making a thread over there (or even poking around a bit for strategies and tips). My advice - keep people with you as meatshields, and don't get discouraged if you die. Also, takedowns by the tongue are awesome.
