It's also know as Wiggles (German) or Gnomy (Russian)
If you don't know what Diggles is, you can find some info in the previous thread that's author is now inactive:
http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=68081.0The main reason I am creating this thread, is because almost every other resource on the internet is gone. Dial 404 on your phone, and you will know where the Diggles are now. Lots of inactive forums, empty chats and so on. So I want to gather all of the remaining forces and do something about it.
One of Diggles down side is that it has tons of game breaking glitches and the patches are available only for German language versions, but I already found out some way to fix it. The other problem is that all of the fun things, like console commands and information about some customization is gone with most of the older forums.
This forum is ground zero of this glorious game's rebirth in 2012, but since there is so much about this game, I doubt it would be efficient to keep all of the information only here, so I am already some things with GoogleDocs- easy to edit real-time. I'm glad I am not the only one interested in this game.
Stuff achievable:Playing the patched German version in English:
There should be a "messages.txt" file in the Data folder, and It contains everything that is written inside the game. And even if the game doesn't start in English mode, you can change the German text, by copying the English text from the English version texts
Use custom settings for Diggles:
Use regedit, find SekOst then Diggles and there it's quite obvious.
Using console to create stuff:
Change textures and imgaes:
All of the pictures are saved as *.tga files. Use Gipm or any other advanced picture editing software. I am not sure if you can increase resolution and get a fluent mapping of textures later on.
Change music and sounds:
They are saved as 80kb/s low quality mp3's and .wav's for short sound effects. Music is selected based on the state of the game, so try to replace combat music with some LOTR soundtrack. We can change what the fairy tells. OMG!!
Customize text:
This could go with the language, but I just wanted to point out, that you can change names of anything. .tcl and .txt files hold names of the dwarfs, buildings, the stuff dwarf says to each other, anything. It can be combined with the modifications of images to create unique menus and weird stories.
The things that are still in progress of being achieved:Custom maps:
Maps are built from blocks of (caves), so it is possible that in a skirmish, the players have very little space and have to fight almost instantly. Or maybe have vast amounts of resources, but a lot of angry monsters. And they are all made by the same .tcl scripts. But there are still lots of stuff that needs to be documented if we want to have challenging and fun maps.
Custom game types and more players:
There are a lot of signs this game had even more features, but some can't be opened without cracking the .exe file and the big .DBD files.
Full understanding of console commands and scripts:
Basically this is a new language that you have to learn, only by trial and era.
Gameplay improvements:
Since Diggles is a slow game, and that tempo multiplies to the bad side for every new thing you assign to do. So maybe by having new dwarfs get adult immediately or maybe shorter construction times, the game would be much faster and you could try more possibilities.
Make custom versions:
Although images can be edited in theory, I haven't made any customization with it yet.
What could help improved the progress:Anyone could really help by directing your known Diggle fans to this page.
If we get enough people, we should consider a full, freely hosted forum, to have better flexibility.
Get some professional programmers. I am just a hobbyist, who knows what is a function and a bit of mathematical skills.
Track down any developers who could give us if not the original codes, maybe some tips of how to open some of the files to be able to edit them.
Thanks PikKirby for creating a very nice video about Diggles:

http://cedegawiki.sweetleafstudios.com/wiki/Diggles:_The_Myth_of_Fenrishttp://www.mobygames.com/game/diggles-the-myth-of-fenrisThere is still some German sites active:
http://wiggles.foren-city.de/ (forum)
http://wiggles.ruka.at/ (a site that is probably made by the original developers)
The German forum has so many resources, but I don't really understand everything they say and I can't register to the site, if anyone has any luck contacting the admins, please tell that I can't log in.
This post will be updated regularly. Contact me or write here for any details about this game, tho the older forum could still be active for a few days.
