I can confirm that a naked child claimed a pig-tail robe with no prompting from me.  In fact, children are claiming all of my newly made clothes.  Still unsure if adults replace clothes; I wasn't really intended to clothe them, but I noticed it when all the pig tail robes decorated with orthoclase cachobons that I intended to trade off were vanishing.  Will test more when nudity starts to spread to adult dwarves.

However, they don't seem to want to claim anything that came from a corpse; just newly made stuff. Might have to do with decay, or claiming persisting longer than the 'claimed' tag does.

Oh this sounds very promising! Can you confirm that they are putting said clothes on? Fingers crossed!

Doesn't look like it sadly. Turns out they were getting stored in some cabinets, not worn.

Well, sigh. But I see some bugs are starting to be fixed! So yay!

I think it's going a bit too far to say DT and other utilities make the game "playable".  They certainly make the game easier, and if you're put off by the unwieldy interface they can be a godsend, but I have no real issues playing without them until they're updated (same for tilesets; you remember sooner than you think once you're back in ASCII, and I even keep a separate non-tileset game running for times when I really want to see it again).

Of course, I greatly PREFER using Dwarf Therapist for convenience reasons.  It's nice being able to select 25 new migrants, right click, and have them all set up as "Haulers" in a matter of seconds.  Critical for play?  No.  Then again, none of us got into Dwarf Fortress because it was easy.

I'm glad to see wagons returning and kobolds are back; I had to mod them back in for the last version, and had to use DFHack for the wagons.  I wonder how long before we see more officially fixed nobles like the Dungeon Master, and how long before elven diplomats return.  Without their incessant nagging, they're like wood and booze peddling humans!  How can I hate the guys who bring booze and ready-to-burn wood every year?  It's robbing me of my elf hate!

Has the "can't use pots to make syrup" one been fixed?

Please say yes. That drives me up the wall.

I am glad that many bugs are fixed. But I still weep, because all not-new-update-related bugs could be there already 1.5 year ago...

Well, I think most of the bug fixes recently were by quietust and company, but according Toady's latest post, it looks like he may actually take some time to fix some of the more egregious ones in the near future.

Seems the large gems, and by extension gem items, are still incapable of being stock-piled.

I though toady had specifically stated this one was fixed?

No, quietus found it for Toady. Quietus does not have access to DF source code.

4. Caravans now arrive when appropriate (instead of just pack horses.)
Nope, not so far as I have seen.

I can confirm wagons are back - have a couple at my fort currently, in fact.

Well, i'm downloading 34.02 today to test a bit. Very happy about the wagons fix. I'll edit my original post tomorrow after I engage in some of my own, private !science!

Dwarf Therapist has its basic functions working. You can change labours, although the sorting is screwy enough that you'll probably need to manually sort by migrant wave. Maybe enable Alchemy on every wave after processing, since it does nothing and no dwarf ever arrives with it (this is true of most jobs at the moment, but that might change).

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

A new bug has popped up for, if i even DARE think about deconstructing the starting wagon the game implodes and i have to start again, so now i have a derelict wagon of uselessness every embark

On another note, i was hoping that the economy and guilds would be put back into the game this version

I did not seen that bug (only one .34.02 play so far, though). Get save that always crashes if you command deconstructing of wagon and report it on Mantis.

Can anyone confirm if glumpwrong and sliver barbs are back? This was my only problem with DF2011 and led me to mod a game so perfect i swore i never would... I have only embarked a few times so far, and i have not seen any yet.

And just to comment, i have never even thought of checking out any of the 3rd party utilities for this game. Last year after modding in a plant to get my black dye i had a little fun making unique tiles for a few things using some of the unused spots on the tileset (it was too hard to see ogres on the eyeball grass...) and some different animated grass... but other than that i play vanilla DF. i've been playing since 2007, since i read the interview with Toady in the ill-fated Games for Windows magazine, if anyone cares... Thanks in advance.
