2012 or 34, depending on how specific you want to be.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

Placeholder sooner is better.

As for those wishing for DFVD, thats not very informative, wikis are about information. I do suspect the monkier will be used on the forums for a long time, though.

Goolgeing VD doesn't quite bring up valentines day.

Not sure we want to have that as a wiki name space, having people think we all have VD. Remeber, new people will come in.

In addition, I had no idea DFVD meant Valentines Day until now. And I'm a pretty old member.

.34 or 2012 are fine -  I lean towards 2012 because 40 > 34, so newcomers are likely to be confused when people talk about 40d as being in the past, and .34 as the current version.

We used the term DF2010 until well into 2012.  I think using DF2012 until the next save-breaking release is just fine.

Why not rename the DF2010 namespace to just 0.31.xx and call this one 0.34.xx? straightforward and specific.

do not like DFVD. i had no idea that you were referring to valentine's day until i read the rest of this thread. DF2012 isn't bad though.

DF 2012: Raise a little Hell

Thought it would be an epic tagline.

I think DF2012 is the best name for the new namespace.

How about just using the official version number. '0.34.01' as a placeholder until something better is agreed on?

We really need something there so people can begin writing articles and updating the wiki for the new version.

The official decision, mainly made by Emi, has been made as follows:

"DF2010" -> "v0.31"
New namespace = "Rel4"

whaowhaowhao, why Rel4? We really need to keep things streamlined here, if we're changing the old namespace to .31, we really need to change the new namespace to .34.

Rel4?

How about R4? and the other R3, R2, R1?

Ver4? Version 4?

Or 'Release Four'

A standard naming convention would be preferable and transparent/ obvious meaning of the name would be nice too, not everybody is going to know what 'Rel4' means, especially if nothing else uses the 'Rel' nomenclature.

obviously, this emi person, who doesnt bother to make an statement about this herself doesnt really care about popular opinion

because she obviously wrote all the articles herself and has no reason to allow debate and instead picks her own opnion that no one seems to share in liking

Just so you know, "this Emi person" is one of the two wiki administrators; the other one is locriani (Briess), and he didn't really care what we called the new namespace.
