Crashing Everytime I Talk to Someone

Hi guys,

Just got the new DF version, generated a world, and went to adventuring.

Problem is, everytime I talk to a villager, it crashes when I select Greet.

Anyone else have this?

EDIT: I made a Pocket Region and I can greet people in that world. The previous one was a Large Island (Or whatever the largest Island selection is)

Quite a few people have mentioned it now. I had it with my large world, but my small world seems fine. Aside from 5 necromancers in one towers, but that's another issue entirely.

If you had necromancy powers, this would be a pretty solid way to prank people.

Are you sure it's crashing? Mine just freezes for 30-60 seconds or so.

Try turning off truetype in the init

How is that an issue?

Mostly just the huge FPS drop. Also the ability to raise a zombie corpse, which started started turning into things like "zombie zombie elfelf corpse."

Still locks up unfortunately.

Are you sure it's crashing? Mine just freezes for 30-60 seconds or so.

Doesn't freeze. The program immediately shuts down and get the "Dwarf Fortress has Stopped Working" message.

I had the same problem and tried different sized worlds, but I changed the truetype and it works perfectly for now.

I generated a large world with a short history (125 years), there is still a short (5 second) delay when conversing with NPC's but the crash seems to have gone away. I had already disabled TrueType fonts before, although I know that this does appear to be fixing the issue for some people.

I should also add that I'm on Mac OSX Lion.
