Valentine's Day. I wouldn't say it's an "official name" however, since about only half of the community seems to like it (I don't, but I'm not complaining too much). In any case, it refers to the new version.

FAKEEDIT: NINJAS EVERYWHERE

FAKEEDIT 2: Aforementioned Haunting Ash clouds only leave people dizzy. A shame.

Questions. Do you guys think I should do pictures for some of the entries such as cursed mist and the undead? And should I have separate sections for adventure mode and fortress mode relevant things?
Definitely, it's already looking a bit cluttered.

It should look a bit better now. Please tell me if I put anything in the wrong section or have something incorrect. Thanks!
EDIT: And pictures, what do we think on pictures?

I'm not sure pictures would add much, if you don't know what a mummy is a picture of an M isn't going to make it any clearer. Are werewolves functionally implemented yet? I think it's odd that there are already dozens of vampires reported and no werewolves.

Vampires are NOT_LIVING, but not OPPOSED_TO_LIFE. Werecreatures are, predictably, 100% alive.

I just found out what creeping ash does. It instantly turned my dwarfs into zombies then they became hostile and killed everything.

Necromancers show up with neither a birth nor death entry in the legends menu. This may be due to the short gen period of this particular world. They also seem to to only take on one apprentice and create a new faction that all their apprentices belong to.

You mean the ability to have endless training dummies, a carpet of eyestalks and tendrills, and a plant that both makes for some good grizzled sea man hard liquor AND the ability to turn your dwarves into the Night´s Watch...not reward enough?

I don't think the names are related to the effect. You have the option to set up 1000 different kinds of evil mists so unless Toady progammed 1000 individual names they they're procedurally generated and random.

Indeed, but we can at least know all possible effects, so I suggest everyone report those here whenever they get something that wasn't mentioned yet.

The creeping ash turned a cat into a zombie, so it doesn't just affect dwarves. The zombie cat then chased down another cat at roughly 125% of the speed of the normal cat. It was pretty fast. I now have all of my dwarves attacking it, nothing much has happened.
EDIT: Also, I had two clouds at the same time. This is new.

Not sure if this would go here but i found it quite interesting, I embarked upon a glacier//snowy area and all of the snow is covered in frozen dwarves blood. Nothing wrong with my dwarves though, and every square of the 3x3 embark is covered in the stuff.

I've seen some other things about that. I think it is related to evil rain, it can be anything.

About to gen my first world in the new version.

We've had plenty of the forum's most dwarvenly (and/or masochistic) members telling us about all the new horrors of the evil biomes. I'm curious, though, anything new to be found in the good biomes? Does it rain gumdrops there?

Bronze Dog has been feeling rather happy lately. He is fond of scimitars, black bronze, turquoise, and kobolds for their underdog status.

Straight from the main page, here are some updates that will apply to fortress mode in non-evil areas.
protect your community from secret vampire dwarves or hunt them as an adventurer
defend your fort during the full moon or risk a werewolf infestion
evil regions where the dead and pieces of the dead can come alive, with evil mists and rain
revamped justice/witness/death notification system in dwarf mode
immigrants to your fortress will now be historical figures whenever possible, which means more family relationships and history for each one
all sponsorship animals and their giant/man versions are in the game now
moon phase indicator in fort
