Stand next to a water source. Press "I". Select waterskin. It should give you an option to fill it.

If filling from wells, you have to first (u)se the well twice, to lower and raise the bucket.

Waterskins can only hold three units of water, right? So, if you drink three times per day, it will only last a day. Does this mean you have to constantly find a water source to fill it up?

I tried looking for some in the town, but none of the shops were selling them.

It's usually not that hard to find a water source. And you can always just drink the blood of your enemies.

I'd consider that a bonus.

Strangely, the thirst mechanic does not seem to work entirely. I let my thirst drop to pink (critical) levels and then tried to get rid of it by drinking and refilling my water skin. Drank about 100 units of water before I decided that nothing was going to happen and just kept on going.

I've got a weird thing... I lowered a bucket, raised it, then filled my watersking with water from the bucket... And then I became an enemy of the town.

Did you see something like this? Is it considered "stealing" if you get water from a well in a town?

Never happened to me, although I've only ever used wells while everyone else is asleep.

I got both a drink and a waterskin refill in the middle of the day without upsetting anyone.

A cool trick for when your going a great distance from civilisation and don'twant to drink blood. Quivers can be filled up just likewater skins but hold 20 units of liquid. So they'regood for long trips.
