My fortresses are generally happy places for my dwarves. Low casualty rates, bedrooms for all, legendary dining rooms, etc. I don't know why, I can't help it. I barely spend any time doing anything with the fortress, it manages itself. I spend all my time making elaborate deathtraps and the like.

You're playing DF wrong if your dwarves are happy and alive.

I keep mine happy, but they must work or fight constantly.

Natural selection at it's finest. Only the legendaries survive.

[Healthcare Update Thread] Personally, I can't wait for doctors to get possessed and start surgically attaching axes to champion soldier's arms.

How ridiculous of me to think that the subject was a discussion of the beautiful weather we've been having outside.

I believe the only "doing it wrong" instance I've actually enjoyed was one where a guy was pretending to slit his wrists with an electric razor.

Wait, it's spring outside?  Like, for real?  Man, I'll probably puke my guts out if I see the sun.

Not because of the memory requirements, though they would be huge, but because technology wouldn't advance.
10000 years of the same swords and shields sort of tech is goofy.
