My latest sewer exploration lead to a keep after slaughtering a bunch of kobolds. I wonder if the sewers are always connected to to the catacombs. Then again, maybe they weren't the catacombs, since there were no tombs or corpses, just a lot of statues.

The things under keeps are dungeons, not catacombs, and I can attest that they do link to the sewers. However, all they're really good for is safer (but time-consuming) exits from the dungeons, because not all sewer entrances will give you a way to the dungeon (they're all connected to each other in the same town, but it's impossible to get between a lot of them without drowning).

I think I have read that Toady has been implementing TrueType. But what exactly will it bring? I've read that every symbol will be unique so that graphic tilesets will become even better.
CAn anyone tell me what will change?

It's supposed to free up the tilesets to use more graphics, instead of needing them to support text as well.  It also lets you set any True Type font you want as the game font.  So if you want to see the game with something like <troll>Comic Sans</troll>, you can.

I know what dungeons, but what do you mean when you say catacombs?

Also, is it just me, or have a lot of players forgot all about dwarf mode and just plays as an adventurer now?

They're probably waiting for various utilities and stuff to update.

And the changes are more significant to adventurer mode, so there's more new content to check.

If you have some companions the dungeons are usually the best place to check for gear, since they are usually stuffed whit just-about-everythign.
I once even found a vampire overlord.
(tough somtimes the dungeons are dissapointingly small.)
Do dungeons always have bandits?

Just got a quest from a law giver to kill someone or other. The quest points to a hamlet though so how do i know where to look?

Catacombs are the series of tunnels with crypts in them under the parts of the town besides the keep. That's where mummies are.

Actually, those are tombs, and are seperate from towns. The catacombs and dungeons are for all intents and purposes the same thing: a series of rooms underneath a city filled with loot, statues, bodies, and bandits.

I know this isn't the right section, but it's at least slightly related.
Is there any way to increase the amount of Necromancer towers? Or is there a way to give a creature necromancer abilities from the beginning (sort of like how all dragons have fire breath, only with necromancer powers)?
Also, is there an easier way to find towers than just going to a town and asking for surroundings?
I mean, I can find the history entry for towers in Legends mode, but it doesn't say what region they are in.

Dungeons are dungeons beneath a city's keep. Catacombs are dungeons beneath a city's temple. They both look pretty much the same, and are only occupied if bandits/monsters moved in during world gen.  Sewers are sprawling networks of tunnels that often, but not always, connect with dungeons and catacombs.  Tombs are above-ground residences for cranky mummies; they always lie outside of the city limits in small clusters...
...I think.

Not really.

Yeah. Check the modding sub-forum for good examples.

In Legend Mode, look under 'Historical Maps'. Advance the time to the current year, and then look around for a purple I.  Those are the towers.

hi all with the new releas i gave a try to adventure mod (i play fortress mode since years) and well it is amazing,
first play as a human, i killed a nigth creature but tjere was too much thing to take care of in the game so i abandoned (as eating, sleaping, drinking ...),
as for the second game: i made myself an emerald man (take raws of human, put in emerald material and "don't" tags, make en entity wich shows up only in advanturer => works fine as far with a tiny but anoying problem:
how on earth do i get backpack? no shops sell it in human towns, i have carriyng a bags - in - bags around to have my stuf in but it is anyothing but practical (need to explicitly put in, and the item limit on them) ... so please where (wich shop or where else) can i get that backpack (to my surprise they are not in raws but they show up if you don't chose the outsider)

In previous versions it was possible to pick up lost weapon without putting it into a backpack. How do I prevent my adventurer from putting a weapon into a backpack in the middle of a combat?

Ran into that one too. I think it happens when you're already holding some other weapon; it won't stop you from holding 2 swords per hand, but it will make you pull it out of your backpack to do so.

Does holding 2+ weapons per hand decrease effectiveness?
