Maybe I'm a wimp, but I can't do it.  The style of horror (Moving forward into something completely unknown and scary) is my achilles horror heel.  As I get deeper it gets harder for me to keep going and I can't bring myself to move forward past floor 17 or so.  Since I can't save or pause I can't just stop for a while and let my holy fuck glands calm down then continue.

Wow this game is scary, i played the SCP version (the one with the stairs) and i got bored at about floor 111.
Just played the 2nd version SCP-087-B(the brick corridor version) and i have never been so scared in my life lol.

I started out by walking through normally then every fork i came to i would take the 1 on the right, i got to about
floor 14 or 17 and heard a noise like a thump or someone had ran into a brick wall, at the same time a shadow appeared on
the wall.

It made me jump so much that i shook my mouse like crazy and immediatly went for the esc key so i didnt see what happened
next, bearing in mind that i hadnt looked behind me at all even when i heard noises.

After i came out of the game i was shaking and got that cold feeling up my spine, the funny thing is that i read other people getting
scared when they played it but thought that it cant be that scary and bam that happens.

I opened up the textures and resources and I can't imagine this being very scary... its only got a handful of textures. I can't even see any data files, so it's hard to see where it's keeping its content.

I'll have to take a look at it tonight then.

I didn't see the face when I played - not until I watched that video. I was kind of in a trance by the time I got to it, as I'm pretty sure I descended over 100 flights. It was sort of like "Holy shit, there is something standing there oh no hands agh"

Those were some awesome nightmares, though.
I actually slept better after playing Amnesia and Penumbra, so I give the creator(s) of this game some serious compliments. The only other time horror has invoked insomnia in me was after watching the first half of Marble Hornets in one night.

Also, the inspiring "story" is pretty cool.

Which one are you talking about? There isn't much in the way of content for either. It's not about what there is, but how it's presented, as with much horror.

that it's a randomly generated sterile maze (i.e. few moving parts or enemies other than the character) with a lot of atmospheric noises and darkness. Therefore, no need for many textures. There is only a small amount of content needed to generate the jump-scare, which from the other descriptions in the thread is visually very simply as well.

I thought A looked much more atmospheric and spooky. B appears to have more interesting floors and varied activity, though.

You don't need 20+ textures. The corridors have the same textures repeated over and over, it's not how pretty the game looks that you need to worry about, it's the atmosphere and the tension of not being able to see what's next until you're basically right on top of it.
