Deep within the station, the Drone Factory which had for so long remained dormant came to life in a chorus of hissing pipes, grinding gears, and bellows as spurts of steam are spewed forth into the empty depths of space. From it five humanoid figures emerged, beings of human stature with arm mounted plasma cutters, laser picks, and other assorted mining equipment, and covered in thin plates of heat-resistant plating to shield them from damaging themselves. The last thing to emerge from the factory was a circular vessel of some sort with two light point defense turrets built into its side, and tether cannons attached just below the engine, to aid in the carrying of cargo.

With those created they all headed towards the only mining station under your control, and quickly begin their work within, mining ore, and other precious stuff from the asteroid, and shipping it back to the station in small pallets. Within the week they had produced enough minerals to replace nearly half of what you had spent on their creation.

Elsewhere the R.D.s continue their work, a large number of them begin work on the station's defenses, they replace plating that had long since disintegrated into fine iron sand, and replaced burnt out power cores that had long since lost the slight glowing green light that gave a slight sense of being deep underwater. Within the week the R.D.s have restored the station's defenses to their former glory, but it came at the cost of half of what you had already mined.

Twenty other R.D.s spent the week searching the station, and fixing the cords that cut you off from the dark sections of the station. In those dark sections as they are restored you find numerous areas that are empty, places without purpose, and several others that were clearly designed to house the humans you protected once they were awakened. Of what you set out to find you only found four heavily encrypted databanks, that even you can't access.

Those of your combat drones that you had chosen at the beginning of the week set out, and began to traverse the dangerous field of debris that now surrounded your station. As the group exits the far side four of the group had been destroyed by stray debris, and the rare explosion of a slowly over-loading engine that took out two of the four drones. Those left split up, and are programmed to return in three weeks with news of the outside world.


Finally the medical drones report back to your saying that all humans vitals, and the cryo bays systems check-out. None have, or would die for some time, and among the humans sleeping in the cryo pods they find several groups, or persons who may be of interest, and use to you.

-The factory should produce another 5 mining droids( 75 cost, 30+50 produced this turn). This should max out our mine until we get more transporters.
-The repairbots should split up. 60 continue looking around in the station, looking for stored metal or food. They can also look for farms.
-10 should check out how badly damaged those asteroid defense platforms are.
-We should start decripting the databanks, but careful. We don't want to lose them.
-If we find food/ operational farms, we  should awaken both scientist and some medics/ lab assistants to help them. Otherwise, let them sleep. The medibots should check everyone, and then the Profs can try and help decrypting the databank, while the medic helps the medibots.
-Also, check the sensor room, don't want any suprises.

Just as a side note checking the sensors won't do much as they will automatically report any anomalies straight to you.

Straight back to work your factory continues its flurries of activity as it begins to piece together five new Mining Droids for your Mines, and by the end of the week, and most of your ore shipments you manage to get them up, and running fully. They shuttle over to the mine on the Transporter, and set to work beginning the preparations for mining activities next week.

The R.D.s continue their endless search, and repair of the entire station as they search for anything that may be of use to your forces in the long run. Through their search they continue to find numerous empty spaces awaiting facilities to be constructed, and placed. They also find three Agricultural Modules, two Cargo Bays with numerous bits, and bobs, and towards the lower part of the station your Drones find a massive bulkhead that has been sealed shut by something, or someone. Whatever is behind it is either very dangerous, or very valuable .. maybe even both.

Elsewhere ten of your drones begin sweeping over the Asteroid Defense Platforms, they find that dozens of point defense turrets have been blown to shreds, numerous Auto-Cannons have been broken off by the impacts of stray drones, and the asteroids surface is covered with chunks of exposed wiring, and power conduits that keep the Platform running. With its current look it'll take you about fourteen months, and a thousand ore from the mines to repair two of them for use. The benefits compared to the costs are to high for our forces at the moment, and for now you'll just have to protect them till you can fix them, or a hundred ore to get the remaining Point Defense Turrets, and other weaponry on each up, and running.

Taking some of your CPU cycles off of Drone Control you begin trying to decrypt the Databanks in the lower areas of the station, and after fifteen hours of work you break through the first firewall gaining access to ... the station's current status, like that will help much considering you already know its condition. Seeing this, and the farms Agri. Modules you awaken sixty of the humans, and begin running them through the physical therapy sessions, and such required to recover from the cryo sleep. As they first awaken you get a sensor reading from within the Storage Bays, and when the R.D.s investigate they find a small access passage leading to a tiny Ship Hanger. Inside the Hanger is the remains of Five Torgash Light Frigates that can be repaired with the right amount of supplies.

You check the sensors thoroughly, and find them to be in tip-top shape (In contrast to the rest of the station which is pretty much in shambles), and nothing is on the scanners.

Can we have a list of available blueprints, or are the databanks too corrupted? (i'm thinking of a large repair bot - with several big jobs taking 40 drones, could we create an efficient bot which is capable of doing the work of 40 drones, cheaper than actually building 40 drones (the hints about 1 yr repair time "with current workforce"). Do the Historical databanks indicate how the aliens currently holding the mining station will react to our re-awakening?

A: Examining the giant locked down bulckhead
B: Designing a scavenger drone(Armored, no weapons, tractor beams, low cost)
C: Decrypting the databanks
D: Examining the damaged frigates

Drones:
- Factory builds: 1 transporter droid(80 minerals) and 3 miner droids(45 minerals) Total: 125 minerals
- 40 repair droids continue exploring the station( Focus: Metal deposits, droids and fuel production)
- 30 repair droids approach the locked of area from different directions
- If food production is sufficient wake special ops team, if not don't
- Medibots continue catalogizing

AI :
-Continue decrypting databanks

TO do:
-Repair power system: 80 minerals
-Patch up asteroid defenses: 100 minerals
-Repair frigates: 100 minerals/ship
-Repair Asteroid defenses: 1000 minerals

Think I got more or less everything.

This  Democra-Brain unit concurs with plan 0.3, with the proviso that as we only have 70 repair droids, not 80 the higher order prioritization allocates them according to expected workload (if 40 is overkill for either task, re-allocate proportionally)

This Democra-Brain unit would request that returing scouts attempt to mask their destination if they have cataloged any unusual activity. (we do not wish to lead any extra people here)

This Democra-Brain unit would further inquire what the qualified humans would consider the best course of action, and if they know of a natural leader or diplomat amongst the frozen humans. <with multiple contacts present we may need an offical representative, atleast to the organics controlling the other mining stations>. If no suitable individual is available, set the medical droids and any other spare resources (that are capable) to consider the "design a humanoid robot" problem.

Have the sensors recorded any transitions from/between the mining stations? if so, is communication from here possible?

question to the gm: how independent are we as AI? -- what are our mid level directives, other than protect / restore humanity? -- how do we even define "humanity / civilization", or is that up to us?

Salvage will not decay in space as their is no foreign elements to erode, or rust the metals. It is likely the debris, if left there, will out last the station, as well as continuously harm you if your drones luck fails. The current amount won't harm anything larger then your current drones, so Frigates, Large Siege Drones, and Ships are quite capable of just flying through with just a scratch or two.

3 Ships repaired to about 1/3 their capacity would most likely fire half its weapons ... then explode.

Those are listed in the Unit Stats section, units with a Mineral Cost next to them can be built :) As for the larger Repair Bot it wouldn't be fit for the small jobs the current R.D.s do such as rewiring, sealing breaches on the hull, and replacing corroded plate metals. It would work well to repair ships, and the like, but anything else wouldn't be large enough for it to make the repairs on.

Nope, because Cryopods require power, and steady supply of nutrient supplements, and various medicines every now, and then to keep the thing inside alive. Cryopods also give off a distinct kind of wavelength signal (Its destination unknown, all attempts to follow them has ended in destruction of drones by unknown forces)

Being able to build some droids capable of fighting against armor   Prof. Tells should use his spare time to should describe the blueprint details needed to create more stonewall droids. ( being able to take the fight to the any frigate ships which come later might be useful ).
