AI War: Prime Directive - Humanity - New Drones Not Droids !!
« on: February 12, 2012, 02:49:39 pm »

It has been nearly a eon since the fall of mankind against the rebelling AIs, and their alien counterparts. Now all that remains of mankind are those who have been sealed away in the Space Station Last Hope, over the years the attacks from alien, and foe AIs has shaved the defenses away to a handful of combat drones, sensor stations, and turret emplacements.

As another attack by enemy AI Drone forces begins the stations fail-safe, Prime Directive - Humanity -, begins, and the station's last hope activates, one of the last remaining loyal AIs. With it several squadrons of drones , long since inactive, come to life with the AI, and defenses long lost come into play as the enemy forces close on Last Hope.

As the first of the enemy drones come onto the radars the AI's processors come to life, and the Democra-brain of the computer comes on line.

> Course of Action Needed, Enemies Approaching Station, Prime Directive: Protect Humanity, Secondary Directive: Restore Mankind

The cryopods house only 1000 people?
In that case: Give up. A 1000 people population is not sustainable. Even if we manage to fight them all of the human race will be extinct.

In any case, ACTivate all drones and defenses
Repair both A and one mining station and use the remaining drones to repair the the solarpanels( Focus on small errors, like disconnected cales first).
Realign the station and solar panels so that most of them face the sun again

How do the ATK and DEF scores work?  Because it looks to me like the only weapons we have that can damage the carrier are the heavy auto-cannons.

Try to intercept the frequency the enemy drones work on. If you can use all emitors to blot out that frequency.( Get your own units out of the way first).

Update of battle plan:

1) Realign station + Solar Panels for extra power
2) Use all availble emitors to jam the carriers command signals. This should render drones useless
If succesfull, use all station defenses to kill the carrier( Focus fire on comm center/ Ai brain)
If the carriers comm systems are down or the jamming didn't work, use all the light  combat drones on the enemies drones while using the Stations defense and Battery drones vs the carrier
4) When the battle is over salvage the damaged drones and set out 20 repair drones to repair  the solar pannels
5) Also repair 1 mining station and the drone factory, which should produce another 20 repair drones

I roll apposing D20s, and the difference determines how much damage (On top of the base Atk), if any, is dealt, and then that total is placed in a subtraction with the opponent's Def (Opponent's Def - Your Atk). Also the Carrier won't approach the station, as it is to valuable to lose.

The cryopods house only 1000 people?
In that case: Give up. A 1000 people population is not sustainable. Even if we manage to fight them all of the human race will be extinct.
You do have the ability to create Cloning Stations, and other stuff to rebuild the Human Race, but you need time to do that, thus the Cryo Bay only contains 1,000. There may be others on the station, but as most of your power is down you can't tell.

AI War: Prime Directive - Humanity - A Rather Short Battle Indeed
« Reply #10 on: February 13, 2012, 05:31:27 pm »

Actions:
Quote
Activate all drones and defenses
Repair both A and one mining station and use the remaining drones to repair the the solar panels( Focus on small errors, like disconnected cables first).
Realign the station and solar panels so that most of them face the sun again.

A Short Battle Indeed ...
As your orders are given all of your forces come to life, and the war begins, from the Drone Bays all of your long dormant forces spew forth in squadrons of ten, six, three, and two. Around the edge of your outer station facilities defensive weapons whir to life, and bright flashes of red light begin to go streaking through the air as the Auto-Turrets begin to pelt the Drones from afar. In the first barrage three squadrons of enemy drones are destroyed beneath the powerful turret fire.

As the enemy drones close in on your perimeter defenses your drones burst forth, and engage the enemy. In the first minutes of the clash your Combat Drones strike down forty-five of the enemies drone as the explode into balls of fire under the surprise head-on attack. As the fight drags on your damage to the enemy forces becomes little to none as you score the stray wounding hit here, and there. Though the tide of battle turns as your heavier drones enter the fray.

In the first few minutes of the increased pace of combat a pair of your 'Stonewall' drones are destroyed as a squadron bursts from behind the cover of their fallen comrades, and after that they manage to harm another before disappearing into the cover of the debris. The rest of your 'Stonewalls' have a better time as they counter-attack with renewed vigor, odd as last time you checked they didn't have anything more then basic circuitry, and another twelve Combat Drones fall beneath your forces.

Then, as the enemy thinks your initial attack is done your Auto-cannon unleash a barrage, and a massive chunk of their forces are crushed beneath the massive chunks of metal that are the Auto-cannons ammo. In total six more drones drop of your radar, and  the enemy begins to retreat from your occupied space.

As the enemy's blimps blink off your radar your drones, slightly fewer in number, land back in the bay for routine repairs, and your Repair Drones come to life to answer the commands you have given. All across the ship numerous Repair Drones (From here on referred to as R.D.s) begin to work on the damages the station has sustained over the period of your inactivity. Their work has amazing effect, in the week they spend working on the power systems of the station they manage to restore 20% before hitting an obstacle, for further repairs they need supplies to fix it.

Else where, deep within the station forty drones scurry about setting to work on fix the few damages dealt to the factory, and the calibrations needed to get the factory to work. In no time they manage to finish work on the Factory, and you go to begin manufacturing of units, as you access the build commands of the factory an error appears 'No Building Materials'. Hmm ... that might explain why it didn't make replacements when the station lost Drones, but why are there no supplies?

You get your answer soon enough as those R.D.s you sent to repair the Mining Stations find it to be the only one not inhabited by a race of tribal like aliens, the other stations where over-run several decades ago, and have since fallen to the control of the aliens, in order to take them back you'll need to produce some kind of humanoid drone to go into the stations, or wait until you reawaken the humans, and ask them for their assistance, which is pretty weird as your Prime Directive seems to point to you being the humans leader when they are awakened.

Elsewhere your R.D.s head out into the treacherous depths of space to recover the remains of the enemy drones, and manage to gather a fair bit of them, but at the loss of half the drones sent out there to get them. On a particular dangerous day three drones are killed by passing debris, and you call off the operation. On their way end some of the R.D.s get lost, and stumble upon two more Cryo Bays hidden away through fifteen feet of Titanium/Cryo-Steel Alloy.

With your unused Drones you A) Sent a select few out to scout the surrounding areas, and systems - we need to know what dangers we should eliminate before organising patrols.
Also repair station batteries, mining stations can wait as we don't have enough droids.

1) Create 5 mining bots (75 minerals)
2) Create 1 Transporter bot (High armor, low weapon, fast+ storage capacity)(25 minerals)
3)20 Repair drones continue repairing power systems
4)20 Search for any sort of databanks within the station's systems
5)30 Go out and start repairing the STations defense turrets.
The four medical drones go out and catalogue all the humans in the cryopods

Send out 10 basic drones to search the surroundding systems.

We don't need any storehouses yet, as we can store them in the factory fpr now
